Can we skip cutscenes in FFX yet?
I remember this was one of my biggest disappointments with FFX on PS3 was that they somehow chose not to include this feature. I've beaten this game 4 or 5 times already, I don't care about the cutscenes anymore. I'm considering getting this, some of the new features look nice and all, but not if they just refuse to add a simple cutscene skip.

No you can't when you hit the pause button it just pauses the cutscene seen no option to skip

You can rush through dialogue by pressing B though you don't have to wait for the dialogue to complete before doing that.

SE amazes me. They MUST be ABLE to do it, so that means that they are actively CHOOSING not to ALLOW me to skip cutscenes. It hurts. It really hurts.

I think they are on the F keys, like F1. Also, how can Square add cheats but not skipping cutscenes? Maybe skipping cutscenes is a secret cheat you unlock by beating Penance at Sphere Level 1...

Press ESC on your keyboard for a PC exclusive menu. All the buttons for them are in there.

F1-F5, Turbo, Supercharge, Enemy Encounter Override, Auto Battle and Hide HUD. Those are all toggled. All items, all skills and Max gil are permanent are permanent once triggered. All can be found in the ESC menu.

I am willing to bet that in time the modding community will come up with a mod that will allow you to skip cut scenes. This too is the main reason I haven't bought this on Steam yet. I played this game a million times back on the PS2. Most of the cut scenes were cringe worthy back then and I sure as hell don't want to sit through them now but I love the combat and growth system. I will probably check periodically to see if someone comes up with a fix because when they do I will buy this for Steam.

I'm sure they could, but I wonder how much work it would take. I saw someone in another thread speculate that one of the reasons you can't might be due to timing and how the in-game cut scenes work. Like if they were skipped the game could break as characters would be places they weren't so scripts might break or geometry. It's something that SE obviously could fix, but if that is case it would require them to manually adjust every single cut-scene as well as a lot of the scripting and character placements. It would be a lot of work.

how ♥♥♥♥♥♥' dare you, m8
They kinda are, though. Auron and Jecht sorta save the game by themselves and even Auron can't take an hint from his own character and shut the hell up when they're about to fight Yunalesca.

None of them can be skipped because the PS2 Development team didn't allow for it. They still don't.

In order for Square-Enix to have released this game they had to get their EXPLICIT permission to do so.
