[SOLVED]Long loading times for battles.
PSA: DO NOT LIMIT FRAMERATE WITH A THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE!

I don't think this is supposed to happen...

Ya theres a bunch of problems right now, for me its heavy frame stutter every 10 seconds or so (medium quality and v-sync off helps alot):steamfacepalm::steamsalty:
Fire2box May 13, 2016 @ 1:44am
i dont have any of these issues you two mentioned.

3570k
r9 380 (latest driver)
8GB memory
and the bundle is installed on my 7200rpm 5TB HDD.
Red Panda #Sweg May 13, 2016 @ 1:51am
got the same problem, but after starting the battle enemies also take 30-120 seconds to spawn...

Sadly this is a COMMON thing that happens when you port a console game to PC with patchwork jobs, Square Enix were told to launch the game a month early, and forcing them to skip out on optimizing the game and sending out graphics drivers, your best bet is to try ALL settings, find something that works and stick with it, or wait for a patch, if you are REALLY sore, ask for a refund and buy the game again when it goes on sale.

Mine's on an SSD.

Are you using DSR or running at 4k? That increased my load times. I have very similar hardware to you.

I did use DSR to run it at 1440p (game doesn't seem to recognize some more obscure resolutions), but dropped it down to 1080p when recording this.

Make sure that there's no data writing on your disk. If you have Steam downloading another game to your disk (or running a bit torrent client) while you're playing, something like this can happen.

Not sure what's causing that, my loads are considerably faster. For what it's worth I'm on Windows 7 and running the game off a 4TB black drive.

Just some random possibilities.

Update to latest NVIDIA driver/GeForce Experience
Close 3rd party graphics card tools (EVGA precision, MSI afterburner, riva tuner etc)
Run app like CrystalDiskInfo to verify your SSD is passing S.M.A.R.T tests
Try disabling anti-virus while playing

Good luck, hope it gets sorted out for ya.

I got no disk use in the background (besides that recording, heh). Even if I did, my 4 SSDs in RAID0 could handle it. I can rarely saturate all of the write and read bandwidth. Even less so simultaneously.

I got the second most recent driver. I'm not too fond to update soon after they release a new one, considering how many bugs there've been lately.
I could try that, though I doubt it will help.

Edit: And this is just the battle splash screens so far. Moving between area, loading saves, etc. happens faster than on PS2 or emulator, pretty much instantly.

Apparently the game doesn't like RivaRuner. I used it to limit the framerate to 30, as it was sometimes jumping to 32 and back.

Edit: Even above it.
