That or they just couldn't figure out how to get skipping cutscenes to work right. They had to have played their own game, right? They must have known that these bits would be annoying and frustrating to the player.
Also, loading different parts of the game relied on cutscenes being an exact length. Obviously, this wasn't an issue for later PS2 games, but developers were able to understand the hardware better by then and I imagine it was even harder to implement cutscene skipping for massive RPGs such as this.
That was our punishment for failure. It was our own falt, our own short comings. We aknowledged it; we appreciated it. We learned to overcome. We learned to rise. Then the bombs fell, but we were prepared.
To be fair i hate most of the FF 10 Characters and have 0 interest in the Story too, iam just here for the Gameplay.
So its realy tiresome, even more with the anoying voice acting.
I prefer FF 6-9 over anything after, but FF10 may have the best Battle System, when only the rest of the Game was good or at lest skipable.

At least something, you can speed them up.
