Why not play other games in the series? They all feature unique worlds and stories within them. I'd recommend FFXV, because it's my personal favorite. There's also the Lost Odyssey on XBOX360 which they say is a FF-game just with a different name. When I was looking into jRPGs for the first time, I came across a game called The Last Remnant. I think it's a pretty good one too. And of course Persona series. there's Persona 4 on steam, but I really wish there was Persona 5 here too. I just love the style of that game, it's a super awesome game.
I'd say just go for FFXV. It's a great FF game, but it comes with tons of unique features other games just don't have. For one, the whole game is like a road trip; in a sense that you will be spending a lot of time driving a car with your friends, making stops to refuel, spending nights either in motels or in a camp having meals cooked at the fireplace. The combat is not turn-based, it's more of a like DMC style, but you have your buddies with you and you can cooperate your attacks and combos. And don't get me started on the story, it's amazing. I think the best thing about FFXV is the world - it's a mix of modern world with technology and magic.
I'd also recommend you trying out Persona 5. You can run on PC through an emulator and trust me - this game is worth the trouble. So the deal is - Persona 5 is a PS3 title, and it runs well on the emulator. Of course the better your rig is the better it will run. Now, Persona 5 Royal is an extended or "complete" edition, but it's only available on PS4. Still, the PS3 version is really worth trying out.
Well, if you don't want to bother yourself with emulators, then by all means try Persona 4 Golden. It's overwhelmingly positive reviews clearly say it's a great game too.
Also, you should definitely try the games others suggested in this thread. Octopath Traveller looks great, but it's hella expensive, and Ni No Kuni is wonderful if you're into Miyazaki-style animation.
P4G is a very good game as stated - however do keep in mind that Persona games are mostly about story, and combat isn't a main feature. There can be fairly long passages where it plays more like a visual novel than an RPG.
Yeah, everyone is waiting for that Persona 25th Anniversary event, hoping that they'll finally announce the port. And why would they just release Strikers on PC, it make not damn sense right?)
I don't think ANY of the main-series MegaTen games are on PC yet, and who knows if they ever will be.
Chrono Cross.
The video I posted isn't showing up here for some reason. Search for 'Dreams of the Shore Near Another World', if you like.
that would be nice..i would love to see Nocturne on steam..that story is awesome.
The Legend of Dragoon
Radiata Stories
The two Golden Sun games
Chrono Trigger
Xenosaga series - note that the second game kind of sucks, but the first and third I consider masterpieces (think you'll need either a PS2 or early-model PS3 and physical copies for these, don't think they've been release digitally) Wow, looking at the price of the third game, holy ♥♥♥♥, maybe I should get something more than just the case to protect my copy.
it's"legend of the dragoon"
but this game is not on steam
