Controller Use

Why does this game not work with any controller that I attempt to use it with. PS4 controller doesn't work, XBone Controller doesn't work. What is the deal with that?

Well - the game it self does work with other controllers - maybe you have some other 3rd-party software isntalled that is messing with it, or the steam-settings are changed (steam it self has a lot of extra features for controllers that also can cause problems).

I have removed all listed controllers in Steam except for the Xbone controller. Still nothing.

I've played this using Xbox and PS3 controllers, without any problems.

You may want to fiddle with the Steam client's controller settings, sometimes that needs a bit of adjusting for things to work.

I have done everything I can think to do with the controller settings and am still unable to get any controller to work with this game. No issues with any other games, just this one.

Have you tried using UnX? It has some additional controller options IIRC.

Have you tried to disable Steam handling the controller mapping? There is a controller option in the libary properties of your games where you can disable and enable it individually. Not sure if it would help (my PS4 controller works great), but if you've tried everything else it's worth a try.

You have to use a wired controller. It won't work via Bluetooth.

That's not true, I've used both Xbox and PS3 controllers wirelessly without a problem.

adjust what though? all of your posts have added nothing to help figure this out and are quite literally less than useful with no amplifying information...

Because there's so many differences in individual setups, drivers, settings, etc. it's very hard to just give the perfect answer - what works for one person may not work for another, for various reasons. I can't go and look at their PC and see everything, so this is as good as it gets - try and fiddle with stuff and see if you find the configuration that works for you.

Do YOU have anything to contribute? At all?

Had the same problem.
The solution i found:
Activate The Big Picture mode. Go to FFX setups, and activate Xbox mode controller manualy. Then you can leave Big Picture.

nope, because I'm having the same issue, and can't find a solution anywhere. And have no idea what settings would do what, so people like you saying to check the controller settings does nothing considering as far as I can tell everything should be working fine since my controller works on every game except this one.

Sounds like you have no ideas, considering you haven't thrown out ANY ideas or said hey, check these settings in this menu. ya know something useful?

that is something useful and you are refusing to even attempt to solve the problem that only YOU have.
