There's literally no reason to ever want to go back to the original. Unless you, like, WANT pixelated graphics or something, idk.
Thank you, I'll get it now on an offer!

Emulate the whole thing 2x or 3x if you own an International version (or a PAL one).
Many textures in remaster are still low-res even on "high" preset.
That includes playable characters and many NPCs.
To the point where an NPC's garment received HD treatment but his/her face didn't.

I agree, the remaster is better !

Unless you own the international already - Remastered.

The remaster has everything that the PS2-Versions have, with some small extras, and it is not just FF-X but also includes X-2.
You also can mod the game if you like (nice to have mods like UntitledX add some quality-Of-Life stuff, or just change character-textures).

Honestly, outside of some extra content added to the remastered version, a slightly altered UI and slightly better load times, this is basically the exact same game as the PS2 original, so you can't really go wrong with either version, though I tend to prefer the PS2 character models.

I prefer the PS2 version for the UI and Typeface/subtitles, but if you don't own a PS2 or live in North America, I would definitely go for the Remaster.

The differences between the International and Remaster versions are negligible, and the addition of having a digital license, cloud saves and achievements is quite nice. Especially if you don't have a reference picture of how the UI on PS2 was.

Remaster, but if you only have the PS2 version, you can play on it for a more nostalgic experiencie, of course it doesn't add the special end-game content but the story is fantastic and the original soundtrack is good as the arrange one.

pc version for the untitled project x mod that lets you have sensor on all the time and even on enemies that cant be scanned, the party gets AP even without participating and the skip cutscenes turbo boost features. also rebind the boosters to whatever you want on the controller

Those 2 options - they are simple quality-of-live and really annoying that they are not in the base game. Specially the second one would be really helpfull when farming.

This was the most useful QoL booster for me. With it, it's possible to have Kimahri and Lulu remain useful throughout the main game, without them falling behind in AP. Otherwise, it's really tedious to swap in 4 characters, have them all defend for one turn, and then swap in the remaining 3 and have each of them one-shot the enemies.

I've played just about every release of FF10 and can definitely say go with the current remaster. The original was amazing, and the remaster definitely keeps what made the original great and added a lot of (optional) things. The few things that they changed weren't really too much in my eyes and I think they did a great job moving it over. Plus, the games general video quality is a lot clearer too, instead of the bit of muddy video quality you'd get from the PS2, but since the PS2 was pretty much from a different time of the industry (before the advent of HD monitors/TV's and HDMI), that's understandable.

When it was first remastered for the PS3 though, you were forced with the new version of the soundtrack and given the option of having the original sphere grid (which was north american version) or the International, and also included FF10-2.

This version gives you everything from the PS3 version (the PC version is more or less the same as the PS4 version) in addition to giving you the option of the original or remastered soundtracks.

I don't think the PS4 had any of the boosters though (such as the option as maxing out your gil and stats right away) if you're into that sort of thing. I like the bit of grind the game has though so I try to avoid it if possible.

If you don't have the International/PAL version for PS2, you'll be missing the Dark Aeons and Penance on that compared to the remaster. Also won't have the option for the expert sphere grid if you want to use that.

Also, I imagine the only way you're getting a copy of the original PS2 version now is used, so you won't know what condition the disc is in.
