Many textures in remaster are still low-res even on "high" preset.
That includes playable characters and many NPCs.
To the point where an NPC's garment received HD treatment but his/her face didn't.
The remaster has everything that the PS2-Versions have, with some small extras, and it is not just FF-X but also includes X-2.
You also can mod the game if you like (nice to have mods like UntitledX add some quality-Of-Life stuff, or just change character-textures).
The differences between the International and Remaster versions are negligible, and the addition of having a digital license, cloud saves and achievements is quite nice. Especially if you don't have a reference picture of how the UI on PS2 was.

This was the most useful QoL booster for me. With it, it's possible to have Kimahri and Lulu remain useful throughout the main game, without them falling behind in AP. Otherwise, it's really tedious to swap in 4 characters, have them all defend for one turn, and then swap in the remaining 3 and have each of them one-shot the enemies.
When it was first remastered for the PS3 though, you were forced with the new version of the soundtrack and given the option of having the original sphere grid (which was north american version) or the International, and also included FF10-2.
This version gives you everything from the PS3 version (the PC version is more or less the same as the PS4 version) in addition to giving you the option of the original or remastered soundtracks.
I don't think the PS4 had any of the boosters though (such as the option as maxing out your gil and stats right away) if you're into that sort of thing. I like the bit of grind the game has though so I try to avoid it if possible.
Also, I imagine the only way you're getting a copy of the original PS2 version now is used, so you won't know what condition the disc is in.
