0.0 is impossible: the ungetable weapon sun crest

in this version of the game for pc I can swear on my blood and bone and very soul after month of trying, 0.0 is unreachable with a keyboard. Sad thing is I will not cheat meaning this ulitimate weapon is reachable.

Havent tried it on PC yet, but maybe invest in a controller? Or borrow one?

Seriously is this doable with a keyboard? This is the only one I am completely convenced that its just not able to be done using the Keyboard, the butterfly and the dodge I know can be done just take a lot of time and effort.

But getting 0.0 or as it actually takes -0.1 with the HD version seems nearly undoable using the keyboard due to how the bird hit box is set up and how hard it is to control the chocobo around them towards the last half of the track. I've made several hunderd attempts it feels like and 4.1 seconds is as close as I can get which not close enough.

Any one have any success with this race using the keyboard set up and if so any advance based off the keyboard and its movement works?

Jansen: Yeh maybe just never bene much a controler player, if I just understand why it seems you be no where near a bird yet still get hit I be able to do it maybe just hard to get the what 13 balloons you need I think? IDK I know it takes a good number of them and only allows you up to 1 bird strike if any to reach it.

It always took <0.00 even in the original.

I suppose whether or not it's POSSIBLE with a keyboard is one thing, and may depend on hardware as well as software settings. Whether or not it's VERY HARD, though, that I think can easily be answered in the affirmative.

If you've had enough of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ surrounding this challenge, I'd suggest you simply use the Farplane tool to add the Sun Crest manually and save yourself the headache. Investing into a controller just for this one thing is probably overkill (but feel free to do it if you want to use a controller for other things as well, I suppose).

Yeah, you just need to focus on dodgind birds (duh) and wait the RNG to give you a good start.
The movement is just like the ps2 version was using the ¿cross? gl

Kets: Yes Duh but as I said they seem to have a pretty big hit box bigger then I remember in the orginal PS2 version. With how keyboard movement seems jerky with the chocobo I was wondering if any one been able to actually do it and do it reliable enough to say its legitmeitly possible not just a pure super lucky RNG event.


Hinnyuu: Yeh duh lol never get it JUST for this I have plenty other games a control be helpfull with. As for hacking the game...Why cheat and devaule your experince? Why cheat and make you some one who has everything never doing the work? I mean its not like using a script to get the lighting dodge, which is still cheap but you still at are having the character do the work. I do agree this is probably still to this day the WORSE of all the challanges, more then the RNG of getting the Blitz Ball reels for Wakka's or avoiding them damn butterflys enough to get Kikamuras with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ camera angle it uses..

By RNG i mean that 1 out of 3 times you'll get 4-5 balloons on your side at the beginning and still get the lead over the trainer, then try to not get greedy and focus on the set of birds.

IIRC you just need to dodge 4 set of birds, zigzaging the last 2.

All minigames are doable and reliable with keyboard, being wakka's the more time consuming by far imo.

Kets I think your just lucker then most, and what yes 4 sets but again as I said, they havhuge hit boxes that seems to go far outside there wing span making not geting stuck onb the last two most of all near impossible, which also makes getting the 13 bloons IIRC to get less then 0.0 much harder, also since again the Chocobo jerks around alot when your steering it its hard to zig zag well.

-sighs- I swear by the RPG gods... as Much as I love FFX and X2 they made doing some these challanges impossible on the PC version. IDK whats worse getting 4.1 for the 10th time knowing I am only 2 bloons short or getting in the high 100s on the lighting dodge and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up V_V....

I did it with a keyboard, but I have to add it took way, WAY, longer than it ever did on ps2. There's something wrong with this on the steam version, or maybe it was already like this on the ps4 remaster, idk, but I've finished this game at least 5 times and it was never such a pain.

The races are 100% identical, however the keyboard controls are different from controller for sure. It's simply that.

Why do people play with keyboard nowadays as plug and play gamepad is in 9/10 games? ^^
