Lulu overdrive not working.

I'm starting a new thread because the others are old, dead, or solved (and the solution did not work for me). I cannot get Lulu's overdrive to increment.

To start off, I have tried most if not ALL suggested methods. I am using a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller via bluetooth adapter. I have tried both joy sticks in both, counter clockwise and clockwise, rotations AND both slow and fast spins. I have tried the D-pad both directions and faster and slow. I have even tried left and right on the arrow keys on the keyboard as well as the A and D key counterparts for moving (just in case). I even went as far as trying just left and right on the controller (both joy sticks and the D-pad). None of these methods have worked. I can't get anymore than the initial 1 cast.

Has anyone else had this issue where absolutely nothing seems to work and solved it?

Kind of necro-ing but I'm at Mushroom Rock / right before the Al-Bhed and Crusaders fight Sinspawn & attract Sin.

I can't get it to rise AT ALL - with mashing left + right arrow on keyboard, I even specifically bought a gamepad to see if that would fix it.

Rotating right joystick clockwise in controller's Xinput or DirectInput modes don't raise it at all either.

Lulu's Magic (Atk) is at 28 I believe? So I should be able to raise it at least a couple notches...

It doesn't work with my xbox controller either. I'll try left+right arrows on keyboard, thanks for the tip.

It does NOT WORK AT ALL in the switch-version, has problems on Linux and in general does not work if you have anything but a simple controller (and that includes having changes to the deadzone and attack of the joysticks).

On Keyboard + windows should work (still underwhelming) and PS1/2/3/4 controller or xbox without any software inbetween also in general work.

Dang, lol. I was wondering Y nothing seemed to work. I'm using an Xbox one controller with Steam custom setup and its not working either.

Do u mind telling me which keys on the keyboard charge it? It would be nice to have my Blackmage's limit break do more dmg then a basic Water and Fire spell.

I assume the majority of those who didn't mention 1) Steam Deck 2) Linux (out-right) are using some variant of Windows. I'm using Linux, I will try running the game on Windows and see if that makes a difference.

Don't get your hopes up.

Even if you get it to work as intended, that overdrive is pretty damn bad. It's okay early in the game (and really only okay), but later on it turns into an actual DAMAGE LOSS compared to just casting regular spells via Doublecast.

They done messed up with that one.

Does not work on Steam Deck at all. I mapped the arrow keys and they don't work either. The entire overdrive seems bugged. Different proton versions didn't fix it either. Cool game.

Never changed it so the default-config - arrow-keys (alternate left and right).
And her overdrive is nice for the early part of the story but kinda fals flat cause of the low cast-count and high delay.
