Why is my silent running killing me?

Everytime I turn on silent running my ship starts to overheat and I don't know why it does that.

When in Silent Running, the ship closes the vents and stores the heat inside the ship. That way you won't be visible that easy on the radar. So you can't use it the whole time and have to deactivate it, or you will blow up.

You can equip heat sink launchers to stop the overheating, they used to be effective against missiles too but not sure if that is still the case. There isn't much need for them now though, stealth is not really working effectively and with practice you can line up outside a station, go silent, fly in and turn silent off before you go boom...with some practice

Stealth just doesn't work well against NPCs - it is very viable against players.

This, the NPCs are all dead eye snipers, which is a shame because being a stealth boat pirate would be fun, especially if it stopped crimes being reported against you by NPCs

For PVP stealth is very usefull, depending on your ship and the opponents aim, more usefull than shields

pvp stealth diamondback scout is ruthless. I've seen them blow away anacondas easily, because they just stayed on their butt and the conda couldnt target them unless they got withing touching distance
