Krait Mk2 is the best thargoid hunter but not OP.
My Krait Mk II Anti-Xeno build has shields of 0 and armour of 3786.
It gets by.
Its most certainly not OP.
If you can for example take out a Corvette with a Viper Mk III and with a Python not, then that´s your best ship.
Bigger is not always better.
Lack of utility slots. 2 more utility slots would make it more practical to carry scanners and a strong defense.
Pure Shield tanking is less practical than a corvette or conda.
The top 3 hardpoints are slightly too far apart to make module sniping with the outer 2 hardpoints practical when using fixed weapons.
The internal optional modules slots are not ideal. if the 2 size 3s were converted into a single size 4 plus another size 1 or 2 slot (or splitting the size 2 into 2 size 1s) it would be more flexible.
Heat is more of an issue than some ships. If the ship ran even a little bit cooler it would be better and more flexible.
That said the Krait MK II is a lot of fun, and very well balanced overall. It is what i tend to fly most of the time.
FDR is considered "better" for PVP, but in PvE krait is usually considered better. Manoeuvrability and speed matters less in PVE, since every enemy is running turrets, and you can outrun them in krait anyway.
Vette is a straight up upgrade in PvE, no arguments. But it's also much more expensive and need a large pad to dock. Making it more clunky to deploy around.
I use my krait for bounty hunting, since most of it is done in M pad station, and the vette would be a PITA to use there. I use my vette for CZ and CG stuff, since I have the pad, and the extra firepower/tank is always welcome.
