(distress call/repair) Hey! Where is my reward? >:(

Finally I got ship ready with “rescue” equipment; I found a faaaar +20k sl distress call, as expected this time the ship requested repairs.

I wasted 2 limpets and the ship just told “thank you commander” and gone… like that :O

Not like I am selfish :p but I got nothing? Nothing in the port?

Did you check your list of claims and such? OR... go to a port within that same system and check the contacts, I believe they also have an option to turn in done rescue attempts (but not sure from mind!).

Security contacts in that system SHOULD have something called "Shares" or something with a small payment under it.

Yes i checked that i did that also helped a guy without fuel same result justa thanks no bond or reward for station.

I also gone to an accident with a "persoal data beacon" perhaps i did something wrong but the only thing i got was a casual chat in the “2 menu” (I asssume before the accident)

I never thought this would be super profitable but i thought picking random signals would be fun and I would get at least a tiny symbolic reward

Perhaps I am doing something wrong but so far I feel they are a useless waste of time.

It'll only show up if you repair/refuel ships and stay in their instance until they fsd out. I'll try to get a pic of where to get the payment share for helping them when I get the chance.

First you must acknowledge that you are going to help in the top left menu. Now you refuel or repair...or give...ahem...narcotics.

But yeah, the rewards are laughable, some credits and rep. But it's for the roleplaying, I made a cute Rescue Dolphin for these tasks.

Yes I have been playing more and as I mentioned whenever I get a “pirate hunt” mission I get a “reward” from the local system I killed the pirates.

And no I am not confusing it with the “mission reward”; it’s different, it is shown in the same menu in “key 1” but a different tab down and is paid from the “authority” in the local system.

However for helping in distress calls NOTHING; zero, nada but a “thanks”; there no reward shown in that menu also nothing is shown in any of the contacts in the stations.

My only assumption so far is that each of those calls are related with a “local faction” and perhaps as a hidden reward there may be a slight increase in your relation with them, but that’s speculation.

You get a small amount of rep/inf for the faction the ship belongs to:
It's a small line of info in the same top right as when recieving data etc.

Thanks that's what i was assuming.

There is a guy in "contacts" in stations rescue and something; he seems to reward you for black boxes, personal belongings, and other things… I never have found any of those, I did a black box mission but I returned it to the guy asking the mission, not the contact guy.

I found a few locations with wreckage and “Personal Data Beacon” but I have no clue how to interact with these.

Also: I was able to refuel a distress call person without a refueling limpet, but I ran into someone wanting narcotics but before interacting I was interrupted by an Imperial Eagle ship that attacked me. I fought back and got sent to prison for it, I was like WTF did I do? I didn’t have any cargo at all... but TLDR; would I have had to have narcotics in cargo to have given a distress call dude some?

Yes i found one of those, i am not 100% sure but the only “interaction” or what you get is in a useless casual chat that I assume is from the moment before the “accident” or whatever it happened in menu “2”. But there doesn’t seem to be way to retrieve it or do something else.

What is confusing is then why there is a “contact” guy requesting those personal data beacons in station? The stuff you collect from missions usually goes the guy giring you, and I have tried to follow many of those random signals and so far I had not found anything that this guy in the station requests.

The “chat” I got from 1 was a series of lines that said things like:

Data intact
Uncorrupted data
Unencoded data
Ready for uplink

And another was similar but had a line about “security enabled” and “data corrupted”

I thought maybe I used my “data uplink scanner” to uplink to it since it mentioned it in the text. But it kept saying I was “out of range” even when my ship crashed right into it
