Cannot pay bounty
I cannot pay a 600cr bounty on me/my ship. I got it from an a assassination mission where I had to hack a terminal first. I have completed the mission and have the bounty still. When I have had them before I have paid them off at an Interstellar Factor no problem.

The bounty was issued by the Pilots Federation local branch in the Shinrarta Dezhra system. My notoriety is 0 and I cannot seem to clear this bounty when I visit any Interstellar Factor, they all say that I have no bounties.

I have spent over 3 hours travelling and visiting over a dozen different Interstellar Factor stations in systems controlled by different allegiances, I am not sure what i am missing or doing wrong.

Have you relogged?

If you've already tried that, perhaps the PF is present in every system you've tried so far. They don't need to control it, just be there as a faction. If they are, IF won't work.

Yeah, I have relogged. I don't think the PF are present in the system I am currently in, I am already quite a distance from where I got the bounty put on me, but will try a few more systems.

If I cannot find anywhere and go back to turn myself in do I loose my ship? or is it just a fine to pay and be relocated to a prison ship?

Try find system with interstellar factor that is 50-70 Ly from system you got bounty. If you got (Notoriety) you need to wait 2 hours to disappear (1x Notoriety 2 hours - 2x Notoriety 4 hours). But if you want to turn yourself in (you don't lose your ship) (sorry my ENG)

I myself once got bounty by Pilot's Federarion and was told they are wide spread, so it's hard to pay off their bounty via interstellar factor. So I've used the alternative way: go to their owned station (use silent run to avoid being scanned and shot), dock and turn yourself in. You will get transported to nearest detention center and pay off their bounties. Ship won't be lost.

Just dying to their security in a disposable sidewinder works too, but then you need to switch to a disposable sidewinder, and then back after bounty is paid off. More bother.

Thanks for the reply's, this whole thing has been a real downer, I am heading back to hand myself in, have spent far too many hours to just try and clear this bounty, am currently over 140ly from where I picked up the bounty but have done many more as I zig-zagged visiting lots of low security systems.

If anyone knows where I went wrong or should have done, I'd love to know.

If the bounty is for a faction like the alliance or the Feds then travel is largely pointless, just turn yourself in, as you are doing. Just use a ship with legs in case the penal ship is placed annoyingly.

Shinrarta Dehzra can be of some help there. You don't get scanned that often around the station so it's relatively easy to get in and pay off your stuff.

Had this problem a number of times, in other systems. I think it's just a bug.

Paid the bounty and can go about my business once again, was only 10 jumps back to Shinrarta Dezhra from the penal ship, bought a fuel scoop before I handed myself in just in case.

I'd like to think that this was a bug as I am not sure how many station's/systems I ended up visiting to try and remove it, but it wasn't much fun.

Well, at least now it's gone and you can enjoy the game freely :)

How do you check which galaxy the bounty from? Also, I killed wanted space pirate at random, I couldn't claim them neither as I forgot which galaxy where I made the kill. Also there are 2 fines on me that I don't know where to pay neither. Isn't the future, credits are cashless online debit card payment? Why would I need to travel to certain solar system first?

You can also turn in bounties from any faction at an interstellar factor, and pay fines there.

You can use Inara to check any inhabited system and see whether the faction who is after you has a presence.

The reason you have to travel is the same reason people living in a country where they're wanted might pay a small island nation to buy nationality there. The laws of the first country don't apply.

You've either forgotten or just failed to read the original post of this thread, didn't you?

I was replying to message #11. I even quoted it.

Some bounties cannot be paid through the Interstellar Factor.
is maybe a bug !?!

You must fly to the faction where you got the bounty and face justice there. There is no other way.
