Is the Guardian FSD booster worth going after? Just realized it takes up a bay, screw that!
And do you have to repeat the process or whatever for each ship or can you unlock them and then just find needed mats or whatever?

Thank you.

You can unlock them and make one of each class. Then you can just swap them out as needed between ships. It's the same as any other engineering. You add the buff to that one module, and that module can still be used by other ships. I don't know if it's worth it, though.
You can add 10Ly to your ship's jump range with the biggest size-5 booster. It's very much worth it, in my opinion.

Yep, I use it for my exploration craft, and those that have plenty o' slots and could use a bit more range. Fed Vette, I'm looking at you.

Yes. Perhaps the best Guardian upgrade you can get.

Oh hell **YES** - dude, just do it. You'll thank me later. :)

You just need to unlock them once. Then you can buy as many as you want with credits.

Just buckle up and do it. People completely overblow the tedium and difficulty.

I actually find it rather cool unlocking the guardian stuff. A bit of a challenge and requires some skill and preparation. People cry about the game just being a repetitive grind and yet when FD actually add something a bit beyond go from A to B they get antsy about that as well.

I agree. It was a nice little unique "event" geared more towards explorers.

I didn't bother unlocking everything though. Only got the FSD booster, gauss cannons and module/hull/shield reinforcements. Maybe I should go have a look at the SLF unlocks which came after I went.

Cool stuff, thank you all.

It for sure is challenging (that is if you do not have conda parked nearby with 4 PDCs) and driving an SRV on low-G planets ain't that easy either.

But you cannot deny the design of the required materials that is absolutely undeniably purposefully made to slow you down by doing repetitive actions over and over again (aka The Grind).

Whether your playstyle is time efficient (farming) or relaxed (do one run, do something else, go back later), the design is clearly there.

I do find unlocking actual blueprints still a bit of fun unlike Engineering or actual Guardian data grind.

Like i said, i was talking specifically about the guardian unlocks being different from the regular gameplay for other things.

Yes. The Guardian FSD booster makes many otherwise impractical builds reasonable to use.

Yes; it's probably the best piece of Guardian tech to unlock period.

You only have to unlock Guardian tech once. Once it's unlocked, you can buy it however many times you want. So you need six Guardian Module Blueprint fragments, three Vessel fragments and I think it is nine Weapon fragments to unlock everything alongside the other materials needed to unlock them.

I've seen this enough times to have me wondering...
How many things do you have to get to unlock the booster? Just the booster?

There's different booster ranges, right? So I imagine a blueprint per range?

If that's the case, is there a place to go to just get the highest ranged booster and be done with it?
