P.S. Wait, are you doing a delivery to a surface settlement in Odyssey, or is your contact flying a ship? If it's a ship, then you should find him in supercruise, and follow his wake when he drops to the normal space.
I understood. I think it's a spaceship, because I only get messages from it when I'm in space. I will try to super cruise again...
thanks
The problem is with Odyssey: many NPC's park their ship right next to the star in a plain out impossible to reach position. So if you go there you'll overheat and drop out of supercruise long before you reach it.
Thanks for the alert, it happened to me with another NPC... the position was on the star, and I gave up, because I had no way to get there...
But this NPC that I'm looking for now, I still haven't found it... In fact, I ended up giving up. I spent almost 20 minutes going around the system, with this NPC sending me messages, but I couldn't find him...
I will try again with another mission today
Also, don't fly in supercruise too slow. Your sensor range is being calculated as seconds till target, and with slow speeds the range is decreased and the NPC may disappear from your sensors.
