Do I need a new Cmdr if I buy odyssey?

It just went on sale but If I buy it will i lose everything I've gotten in the base game so far? I'm nearing buying an Anaconda.

No, you can simply continue where you left off. No need to worry about losing progress. In fact... you can even switch back and forth between games if you want to and it won't have any negative results (just make sure to backup your options file though if you want to do this).

No, it integrates seamlessly with your current progression. You keep playing from where you are now.

You keep everything. Even if you launch odyssey and go back to Horizons, you keep everything. If you buy a suit or guns or whatever for on-foot stuff, you'll have it next time on Odyssey. You never lose anything.
