Question: if you don't have a fuel scoop why do you need fueling stars? That doesn't add up, if you don't have a fuel scoop you can only get fuel from buying at stations. Thus you're limited to the bubble.
As ShelLuser hinted at, humans only populate a pitiful fraction of systems in the galaxy. Hell, 99.7% percent of systems haven't even been "discovered" by players the last I heard.
Bottom line, if you're going to explore always bring a scoop! There's no Stations to dock at in the depths of space!
Also the route line will become dotted meaning after that point you’ll need to refuel.
Inside the Bubble it's pretty easy to find a station near by by simply looking at a star system name. Or if you want to be sure - by filtering your Galaxy map by population size (use high population if you need stations with large pads).
If you go out into deep space - the are no stations around for many thousand of light years. So you must bring everything you need to survive with you. It includes a fuel scoop.
Well, you thought wrong. It can happen. We learn from mistakes and move on. C'est la vie.
This is exactly how I first ran out of fuel in the game, a few years back. And yes, I called the fuel rats.
I'd never heard of the bubble, and I didn't know there was a limit to occupied space. (It's the distant future, and there was no fence around the inhabited zone.)
Also, I don't know how you went from "FUEL STAR" which is written on the map to "refuelling station".
For long range travel, use a scoop. IF you're stuck, call the fuel rat. They'll come, no matter where you are (no, really).
