Selling Exploration data?

I'm working towards my last hurdle of achieving elite rank in exploration. I am currently PIONEER rank and want to sell my data to the highest buyer possible or towards gaining the Jameson Mamorial sytem permit.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

There's no difference in the payout for exploration data, its the same everywhere.

While this is accurate, I'd like to add:

If you're not in a rush, keep exploring for a while and keep an eye out for community goals that want exploration data.

If memory serves they don't increase your rank any faster but you could get a massive amount more credits, plus whatever other bonuses the CG offers.

I just sold to where I considered home. Made Elite and moved to Jameson Memorial

While true, i would not wait for something that might come later, as it only takes one mistake to lose all the data. -so in that case i think i'd go out explore later instead.

One thing you can do if you hold onto your exploration data is to use it to get max rep with a faction. I think you need around 6 million worth of data to go from Neutral to Ally with a faction, but I believe it only works with the controlling faction of the station.

Use the road to riches https://www.alpha-orbital.com/pathfinder and make sure you're in solo mode or private, your rank should go up fast.

Suggestion: don't fuzz about it.

As @Edelweiss already mentioned above me there is no difference. The only obstacle is that you need to sell data at least 2ly away (from mind). Simply put: you can't expect to sell the data you gathered from system one to a neighboring system close by.

But the price is always right :-)

Another thing to keep in mind: there is pretty much always new data to collect. The universe is 3D, and you can even tell your nav computer ("galaxy map") to only select systems for your route which you haven't visited before. Unless you made a habit of glossing over systems this means: more data to collect.

I'm half way of getting my 2nd tier in Explorer Elite and ... my take? If you want it, go for it. Don't try shortcuts like these. Boooring! Nah, if you're in the bubble you're bound to spot some of the nebulea in the backdrop. Fun fact: you can actually head out there and see 'm up close. IMO an awesome experience because as you get closer the backdrop gets larger, and larger and ... yeah, spoilers! :P

But trips like those are bound to get you somewhere. I had Elite long before I went to Colonia for example, and most I did outside the bubble was going towards nearbye nebulea and of course a new trip to Maia.

Reminds me that I need to go there again because I never experienced the vibe in Odyssey. I was amazed within Horizons but... who knows.

Last week I hit Elite in Exploration. I've been using road to riches and usually do 10 systems before heading back and cash in. I have yet to go far for any explorations and won't be able to keep coming back like that when I do. I just reached rating 5 in my factions so, after this Thursday I'll get 200% on top of my exploration data, if I sell in my faction controlled or exploited system.

No matter what I'm doing, every time I enter a system, even if I've been there before, after fuel scooping I always use my discovery scanner before jumping to next system and this adds up, even if you aren't out exploring. So, the added 200% will be a nice bonus.

Turn in your data on the FRINGE of the bubble. Do not go into the bubble very far b/c you could get killed by a player or an NPC. Turn it in ASAP on the edge of the bubble.

Do not fly around the bubble with a ton of exploration data.
