Yes lets open a pointless steam forum post because you dont like the fact the game has a delayed release on key-items mechanic to give NPCs a chance to respond to your attempts to thieve something....

Lemme guess you either Murder-Hobo'd everyone already, or are looting a abandoned base thus the containment unit sample is of no use to you anyway.... but still... yeh sure open a pointless whining post :rolleyes:

NPC all dead, its a waste of players time and as yet I have to see any response.
The pointless act is this mechanic.
If the place was burning down and the scientists were in a rush to grab the sample they would all die... oh wait they all did.
It is a lame mechanic just like the data points with 3 minute waits, i think the last time i had a three minute wait was back when I had dial up connection.

I have yet to see any guard response in over 20 missions.
Power is down, all security is deactivated.
Even with 10 NPC outside no one comes in..... pointless game mechanic
AI is deaf , blind and probably lack the clearance to enter.....

Trigger it before you start looting, come back when you are done. Same with the power if you plan on stealing the regulator - just get the data before you do that. No waiting time anymore. Took me less than a second to think of, after I tried it the first time and found out it takes time.

So to confirm OP has confirmed he just Murdered everyone and didnt even attempt to do the base properly then came here for a good whine because it didnt make sense....

17 Minutes to download the latest season of Mandolorian,
9 Minutes to download the latest patch,
3 Minutes to cook the Microwave mini-pizza's I had,
20 Minutes for the engine in my car to cooldown...

Waiting a few minutes for a Chemical or Biological sample to be safely compressed and put in a storage container is perfectly normal but carry on with your whining because you murdered everyone and then dont understand what your even attempting to rob (Like do you have a mission for it?? No?? You dont? Surprise surprise...)

Do you think the majority of casual gamers want to sit around waiting for a door to open on a cupboard? No they do not.
Its 2021, not 1990, pointless time sinks and yes it is totally pointless just like the data download times.....is wasting everyone's time.
