Only 98.5% of them I think.

over 99% of systems are unexplored. a few tips.

-don't use 3rd party tools to find systems.
the way 3rd party tools work is everything uploaded to them is uploaded by players and have been found.

-leave the bubble (populated space)
you will need to go like 400 light years from sol to find unexplored systems at a good rate. and the further you go the more you will find.

Probably more the 99.9% still: https://twitter.com/elitedangerous/status/1207752551510237186

If you are a connoisseur in the domain of coagulated milk solids, one cannot do worse than diagonal economy plotting around galactic centre.

More likely 4000 Ly. While you still can be lucky to find unexplored star systems 1000 Ly away, most of them are already exploited this close. Unexplored ones begin a few thousand light years away. And away from the main plane.

Don't visit obvious places where you can bet more players went to, so for example nebulae and such. However, having said that it's not impossible. So far I found most unexplored systems while exploring those several nebula.

The key is to try and not do what others would have done. Example... a common jump range is around 40 - 45ly. So if you use that jump range too you could just be following a pre-made track, making shorter jumps can help find the gaps.

Nearest 'new' systems I found were around 1400 - 1600ly from the bubble.

get a 30 ly jump range, hop on a fleet carrier to colonia and jump off half way then go in any direction apart from colonia. That should do it, without lots of jumping through explored space.

Once you get around 1,000 LY from the bubble, you will be able to find unexplored systems easily. I'm currently 30k LY from the bubble and haven't seen a discovered system in weeks.
Nope we've discovered it all.................

There are unexplored systems all over the place. And if the ones you're finding are explored but not mapped, there's another chance to get your Cmdr name on a celestial body.

Here's a tip: find two nebulae, then aim for a spot between them and much higher or lower than the galactic plane.

Everyone treats the galaxy map like a flat surface. If you go a lot higher or lower, you'll be flying through areas few have seen.

There's four hundred billion star systems, we have "explored" (as in, someone jumped in at some point) around two hundred million.

What's the point in exploring if there's absolutely nothing to do tho...

The point is to see something unusual. And maybe even to put your name on it. Exploration, itself, is that something that explorers do.

that's almost just over a year old. gonna need new stats from their end.

i usually do a couple jumps in a random direction before i start plotting a route to my actual target. less likely to follow someone elses path this way.
went to Sagittarius A and then colonia and found a lot of unexplored systems this way
