Elite Dangerous

Colonia
How do you get there? What do I have to do, because I haven't the slightest idea. I am flying an Anaconda. I would like to check it out. There is nothing around in ED that shows you how to do such.

By plotting a route like going anywhere else?

id advice use neutron highway, fastest way there.

(with range of 40, have no idea your ship range)

or simply open galaxy map, write "colonia" and see where is it. its too far for plotting route right away, so choose stars on that direction to close in to colonia.
do not forget best scoope and AFMU, if go on neutron highway.

So the neturon highway is the way to go. Whenever you plot it the most i can get for max jump range without a netruon star is 112Ly per jump with the lvl 3 boost thing for said jump. Still not far enough range range for it either.

Several ways to choose from.
Properly builded Anaconda can jump up to 82 light years. Plotting your route over neutron highway will provide you a journey something about 100 jumps length.
Or you can use taxi service. Just hope to nearby Fleet Carrier heading to Colonia.
It will take 44 carrier jumps (14 hours).
You can find those on Fleet Carrier Owners Club discord server:

Also good to know you don't have to be online while you are travelling on Fleet Carrier.

Also keep in mind that you may not be able to plot the route directly. So if you just click on 'Colonia' and then try to set a route it can fail because the route is too long. There's a simple solution for that: try to plot a route halfway, and from there on go the rest of the way.

With a ship fitted for long range it can be done in 4 to 6 hours, I've heard of some people getting it down near 3 but that's with a ship built to break that record and that ship has almost no useful gear one would normally take exploring, I personally have made the trip in around 5 hours before in a 73 ly DBX but that's without scanning any systems, scanning, that goes up to more like 5 days (playing only at night after work), I've done the trip in a combat ready 30 ly Phantom as well so its doable, it just takes time,

So long as you have at least near 20 lys you can make it, as you get closer the stars get more numerous, so huge jump range is not necessary, there is also a carrier or 2 that run between the bubble and Calonia, however with this being your first trip out there I recommend going in just your ship, take a fuel scoop, AMFU and a repair limpet controller if you have room and just enjoy the trip and scan all you can along the way, you will need a detailed surface scanner as well if you want to get better scans and more cash,

If you want to save some time, the way I scan is I don't bother with detailed scans unless nobody's name is on it, save further time by only detail scanning earthlike, water, ammonia, high metal worlds, and the very rare water giants, by the time you get to Calonia you'll be sitting on a few hundred million in scan data at least.

I am on my way there right now. I am using the Colonia Connection Highway which lists stations along the route to stop off and refit/repair & sell Cartographic Data. It breaks the trip up perfectly.

If you google the name it will take you directly to the page. There is a lot of information to be had as well.

Obligatory "how are you flying an Anaconda without knowing how to travel long distances" post.

But anyway; if you are not interrested in exploration, just hitch a ride on a fleet carrier.

Far enough range for what? I'm currently going to Sag A (further than Colonia) with a 62 ly jump range and no neutron boost.

This link:

gets you a route with lots of friendly space stations to restock in and no seriously scary journeys (~4kLy at most)

Fly there.

Enjoy the trip, it'll be pretty long. If you haven't hit Elite in Exploration, this is a good opportunity unless you really just want to rush it.
