Krait Phantom Best Passenger Medium Landing Pad Ship? SPOILER ALERT
I tried out the bounty hunting for credits and got my pilot to Elite now. Still, a lot I need to learn with making credits for bounty hunting.

Went back to my other base and jumped back into my Stealth Phantom and rigged her back up for passenger missions. I’m looking at 235,238,673 million for reactive armour for my Type 10 and from an Alliance base, at 20% off the regular price, and the bounty hunting, lots of fun, isn’t cutting it for me at the moment.

I’m thinking of a medium pad landing station for passenger missions the Krait Phantom is probably the best ship for the job. With her speed and be able to boost up to 525, which is awesome, I can get into Super Cruise really quickly after leaving a station. Medium stations are awesome for passenger runs, especially if you have shady characters onboard. Also leaving planet destination I like using my boost and popping a heatsink to jump into Supercruise quickly then Hyperspace right away. One run is only 4 jumps total for a round trip and I think I’m doing it in about 10-15 min average. Not bad for making credits that’s for sure. I would prefer taking materials right now, for rewards but, need the space cheddar.

If anyone is looking at doing passenger missions and like to use silent running and have 12 heatsinks at your disposal, Krait Phantom is your ship.

Lots of heatsinks;

Completed missions after one run. This run for about 10 minutes;

Yep, agreed. I built a phantom just for long-range passenger missions some time ago, although it's been a while since I took it for a spin. (These are the 'wants to visit x' missions which usually involve a fair bit of travel, but not the 10k ly+ ones.)

While the Phantom is a good ship you can do better... if you want to make some good money with passenger runs then you'll want Saud Kruger; the Orca. Only Saud Krugers can fit a luxury passenger cabin and those can often make you insane amounts of cash (also depending on your reputation with the local factions, and the available missions).

I once got paid 25 million for a relative small passenger tour; the main limitation being the required luxury cabin. I'm even considering to somehow dump 2 of them in my Beluga to get the extra credits (but this doesn't work all the time so.... dunno).

I use a Python for Robigo. Packed full of (mostly dodgy) passengers and away we go 😁

I remember making quite a bit of money (especially early money as I only had like an Eagle, Cobra, and a Hauler) hauling passengers with the Hauler.... yeah lots of "hauling' :-)

Reason why I'm very fond of the Hauler, that tiny ugly thing turned me into a millionaire very easy, plus learned along the way on proper outfitting and did some exploration, the cool thing about many of the "tourist" missions is you get to go to some nice places.
Still my main taxi around the bubble with 50ly jump.

Haven't done passengers in a while, Dolphin, Orca, Beluga have been on my shopping list for almost a year now. Soon (tm)

The Orca is a lovely ship... Fast, cool, decent jump range, handles like a small fighter... I just wish it was a medium instead of a large...

Almost the same story for me, except I went the Adder route instead of the Hauler for the extra Size 2 slot and let me tell you, that ship did A LOT of adding to my bank account alright.

I was lucky enough to find a system in ONE HELL OF A [internal] BOOM status and my god was it a holy grail of a find for a short while. It had everything:
- bounties (being a low security system, pirates and other fugitives loved hiding there)
- combat zones (small time civil war between factions of the system)
- low and haz res sites
- 2 planets with icy rings, I wouldn't say were rich in high paying minerals, but they they were good enough for a small day out without being in the "mood" for mining, so to speak; which also had moons that had a few geysers.
- small time passenger runs, literally people just wanting a taxi to a in-system-station "next door"
- and MASSIVE cargo possibilities.

For cargo. I could pick up from any one of four stations in the system, fly a max of 1200 Ls, and complete a 270k delivery and proceed to make return trips which only compounded the earnings per hour or make ONE jump and nail a close-to-500k drop (which for cargo in a ship that small, a max of 30 tons with no shields, it was PHENOMENAL pay). I ground that system so hard that I eventually bought a Dolphin, Python, Clipper and a multitude of other ships off it's earnings AND got my first Elite with a few mining runs before FC dropped, killing my mining site. I legit made more progress in a period of ~20-30 hours than I did in my first 180 hours I put into this game. Using the Python In that same system, I would see payments of up to 10 million, 25 million if I made jumps. Was sad to see that system status depreciate the way it did (thanks to falling into anarchy for over a year); it's never been the same since, but when I'm not dinking around Shinrarta or one of its neighboring systems, that old money making backwater hodunk is my "home away from home" and always will be; in fact, it's literally bookmarked as my "forward operating base" LOL. Some of my most favorite of times I ever spent in this game were in one system and it was nothing more than literally flying back and forth all damn day.

IDK, just felt like sharing a story about how an "empire" can be born from something as small as a metaphorical or literal grain of rice.

Orca, Clipper, and Type 7 would be too stronk if medium. Game would obviously break.

Not gonna lie, I went from Sidewinder -> iEagle -> AspX, did not like the iEagle, went and got an adder a lot later (as in, after owning a Type 9 and Type 10) and its a shockingly good small ship for its extremely low price. Off center seat bothers me but not that much.
Its stupid how much money you can make compared to cost in an Adder core mining, step up to Cobra III in one to two runs, and jump into Keelback or ASPX for serious hauls real fast.
Adder is now my 700+ m/s cheap taxi that hops me around from work base to work base. Mining, bounties, Jameson for outfitting, whatevs, that cheap little Adder gets me everywhere stupidly fast and costs nothing to ship around.
