CANT SWITCH SHIPS!

im at colonia in the black. and i have a sidey out of boredom reasons... and i want to switch to my main ship... that being a asp explorer but when i try to switch. i get the stand by screen saying that my ship is being prepared.. then i wait... and wait... 30 minutes pass and still stand by... i tried exiting to main menu and back in... then i decide to go swim while i wait... 3 hours pass still stand by...

must mention that other starport services do work.... only switching ships is broken

edit: CMON SOMEONE HELP ME.. IM STUCK IN A STOCK SIDEY AT COLONIA

Try moving to a close by station in the same system. Then call your ship to that station. Moving things between stations in the same system takes like 5 minutes. It might be that the current ststion is bugging. Bear in mind I'm only guessing this will work.

EDIT: As an alternative, buy a sidewinder and then go get killed. I might be wrong but I think you can switch to another ship you own? I've never tried doing that though.

Do you have cargo? if yes make sure the ship you are trying to switch to has the cargo space.

What is happening is this: The animation that loads the new ship into the station is hanging up due to server issues. While its possible what you are all saying may fix it, I think it won't as this exact thing has happened to me. FD has been having server issues, specifically the adjudication server link to the network. Its not something the player has done, its simply a FD issues with their servers.

Elite has chosen to use the same nonsense internt grid framework that "For Honor". Peer to peer and it is the least expensive and worst way to go. Its the main reason why wingmates cant see other members of the wing, multi-crew only works sometimes.

I know this probably goes without saying, but have you tried reloading the game? Like, close the thing completely rather than only ducking back to the main menu.
