Adequate power distributor
Hi guys, when outfitting, how do we know that our power distributor is adequate for at least 1 boost?

For exploration ships weapons and shield recharge are useless so the lightest possible distributer with engine focused engineering is fine.

Which parameters on these sites that tell us it can boost? Still confused with those numbers on these sites lol
On coreolis if the distributer is red then you can't boost, same with the power plant, if it's red you don't have enough power

That's a good question. Of course, you can always try a third party outfitting web site. But from inside the game for me it was more or less a guessing and a trial & error game.

You mean the boost when used with the tab, right? (pardon my current inexperience, just making sure).

Well, considering that all ships I've flown so far (Sidewinder, Adder, Cobra, Type6 & Dolphin) could use a boost by default my theory is that any distributor which provides better engine support will always be able to boost.

Yes. But when you begin to downsize your power distributor to save on weight and power use, at some point its capacity isn't enough to boost some thrusters.

On my exploration ships I usually install a power distributor of a size just below being able to boost, and then I engineer it with a priority to engines. This way I regain my ability to boost, while still keep it to be pretty light on weight and power use.

If am not wrong my Phantom has a 1D distributor (engine focused/cluster capacitators) and it can boost...but it needs years to recharge for another boost.

My Orca has a 3D one. It is not boosting by default, but after the Engine Focused with Cluster Capacitors engineering it boosts pretty nicely, and doesn't even take years to recharge (maybe ~10s).

With engineering, engine focus with cluster capacitors. Noted.
So that means you have various modules for various roles?
