I've soloed Cyclopses in my Dropship before the T10 came out. I soloed Cyclopses in my Dropship before we had large AX weapons.
It's not a 100% effective (I'd have to run one out of every 4 fights or so) but it does work and I only lost a couple when I conciously made the decision to take a huge risk and might get killed).
Definitely not easy, but doable if you put in the time. Rebuy was about 3 mil.
no it's not. wrong hardpoints setup and the Dropship has more armor. maybe for the little baby goids it's ok but for the serious goids....no.
I'm probably just confusing the FAS and the Dropship since they all look almost the same, whichever one requires less Fed Rank, lol.
I believe the Dropship is the cheapest and has the lowest rank requirement. FAS only has 2 large and 2 medium hardpoints so while a lot of fun (It's my primarynon-goid fighter) it just doesn't carry enough guns for solo a goid. The dropship does. The gunship does as well, but it has TOO MANY hardpoints, and SLF capability (which I don't need) in exchange for speed, manuverability, and armor (all of which I do need) and it's far more expensive.
EDIT: Coriolis also seems to be bugged, when I try to save a build and then load it, it replaces optional internal modules with modules that shouldn't be there, like a fighter hanger on a dropship.
