Maybe the DeathStar was there before you.
Maybe it's just not for you, your loss.
Bugs is not a difficulty and useless tutorial without answers is not difficulty. Its just bad game desighn.
This isn't about bugs and every game has their fair share of bugs. This is about a certain mission type - Bounties/assassination targets.
It doesn't need a tutorial, thats a part of the fun, the player can figure out stuff themselves by exploring and problem solving.
The mission type you are talking about takes time, you have to find the target with little information given. There are plently other things to do in the game if that's not your cup of tea. It's not a bug, it's a mission. If it's too difficult, maybe try mining or exploring. Both are fun. Elite isn't about getting the most money and getting the best ship. I done decent mining with my first sidewinder and now exploring with a fully kitted Asp Explorer.
Simulator games aren't always fun, they can be annoying or even boring but they are different. It's something else that is like a break from the constant chaos in other games.
For example, Euro Truck sim. It's a job simulator, not a game but it's fun if you like driving and sightseeing.
Like I said, this game might not be for you.
Anyhow, what I do is fly up close to the target planet and then set my speed to minimum (stay in super cruise), and slowly orbit the planet. Works like a charm.
This.
Make sure to orbit the planet on both axis (equator and poles) if you don't find it straight away. I swear I have never had an issue with this.
[Edit] Also, make sure to scan the nav beacon upon entering the systerm, and in the event of assasination missions (etc) take note of the time window in the mission description.
Yeah, this usually works for me as well - sInce doing this I've not really had to wait.
Did you read the missio log properly?
Because these missions have a time slot stating that is when the target will be there, if your too late or too early, its not the devs fault you cant read.
This is the correct answer. If you go too early then there is a 90% chance he wont be, if you go too late then you have failed the mission and it will tell you.
