Renaming my ship(s) ??

Did I miss something? I tried to rename my python earlier to something more unique to me. However in the ship's livery menu I could not find the option to name my ship, nor give it an id. I had done this previously, but now it seems to have vanished? Did they move it? What has happened?

Got no problems.

Go into Livery - 3rd from above -> SHIP NAME (under PAINT JOB)

Same thing happening to me. Weird thing is, I was able to mess with the ship name and ship ID yesterday. The option just plain disappeared today.

Same thing is happening to me today. I have 5 other ships and have not had any problem Naming them or allocating their I.D. However today having just purchased a new ship and trying to name it and personalise a ship I.D. I find that the feature has now been removed from my game. Naming and ID is no longer listed under Livery.

Oh dear.... sounds like FD made a boo boo...

But there was no (client side) patch. I can't even imagine how a server side patch could cause this. Its not even Thursday and there was no downtime, so i can't even believe there was a server side patch.

friend is having the same problem, he tried everything I recommended him to try and nothing seems to fix it

I just checked mine - works as usually. The ship name and the ship ID are the 3rd and the 4th menu options, right under the paint job one.

I even bought a Sidewinder, to check if it happens only to new ships. It works normally there, as well.

Maybe try to verify your game files?..

Seen someone reporting this on the offical forums as well. Sounds like its affecting some people but not others.

i saw some ppl at jameson memorial complaining about this too, but for me its working fine, the only thing i noticed is that i cant preview other name plates only the current ones i already have

I've got no problem naming my ships.

If you check the thread you'll see a dev (Mr. Stephen Benedetti) answered this thread and acknowledged the problem.
It seems the bug is still in the game more than a month and half since that answer has been posted (1st of August). It would be nice if a dev could provide some feedback or better yet, if the ships could be renamed again.
