Samsung TV Steam Link Release Candidate

Samsung has published their release candidate build in the US app store.

Fixes in this build:

• Fixed initial pairing and discovery issues
  
• Added support for advanced streaming settings
  
• Added support for 4K streaming on 2017 TVs
  
• Finalized shipping controller support (Steam Controller, XBox 360 wired and wireless, XBox One wired, Logitech F510/F710)

Please make sure you have installed the build dated 7/24/2017 and respond in this thread if you're running into any issues.

Note that XBox One wireless and PS3/PS4 controllers are not supported.

Is there anyone at all out there that has been able to get a wireless Xbox 360 controller to work with their TV using the USB dongle? It doesn't seem to me that it's supported at all with the Samsung TV Steam Link app.

What model of TV do you guys have? Have you updated your TV's firmware?

Samsung KS8000 series with firmware version 1180. It says I have the latest firmware when I check for updates.

Yes, the 2016 TVs don't currently support 4K streaming. Samsung is working on messaging so you don't just get a black screen.

I just bought a Samsung UHD 4k UE55MU6105 (2017). I can see the app but i does not open. I am in Cabo Verde right now, but i also tryed in Portugal too where i bought that TV, but it didn´t work!

Will we ever get 4K streaming support, or is it a limitation of the hardware?

Tried this with a 65KS8000 and 1080p works fine, but 4k is a no go. It detects that 4k is being streamed based on the overlay, but the overlay is all I get. The screen is black, but I do hear some audio. I don't have a 4k monitor on the host PC, but I purchased an HDMI 2.0 headless plug and have the input set at 4k 60hz RGB 4:4:4 on a GTX 1070. I can also confirm that's the resolution when I remote into the PC using TeamViewer. Also is the audio just 2.0 PCM? I don't think the Samsung can do anything more than 2.0 PCM, but it can do 5.1 DTS/DD. Wish there was a way to encode to one of those formats before it gets passed to the TV.

I have been trying this out on a UN55KS8000FXZC. When I tried the beta when it launched, I would get large lag spikes whenever physical collisions happened in game. Compared to a standard steam link where this doesn't occur at all, literally swapping the ethernet cord from the TV to the link, and running off the same network and computer. An example of this is Rocket league. Driving the car around the field is fine, but as soon as I flip the car or hit the ball, massive lag spikes.

Since the latest update, it doesn't seem like it's near as bad, but it's still there. I can also not play in 4k, just a black screen.

I really want to use this app, hope the small bugs are ironed out soon!

I manage to change TV region to USA and finaly i could test it. I test Paladins game on wifi wich had a lot of lag, change it to wire and it was great. I used a xbox one controller with a long USB cable. I wonder when will be using it wireless?!

Slouken, I was under the impression that the 2016 TV's were quite similar to the 2017 TV's. Will we get 4K streaming for 2016 TV's in the future, or is this not possible due to a hardware limitation?
