Samsung TV Steam Link Worldwide Release Candidate
Samsung has published their release candidate build in the app store, available in 54 countries worldwide.

Fixes in this build:
  • Fixed initial pairing and discovery issues
  • Added support for advanced streaming settings
  • Added support for 4K streaming on 2017 TVs
  • Finalized shipping controller support (Steam Controller, Xbox 360 wired and wireless, Xbox One wired, Logitech F510/F710)

Known issues:
  • 4K streaming is not supported on 2016 TVs (models KS and KU) and you'll get a black screen if you try it.
  • Entering PIN authorization code is not supported and the stream won't start
  • Other errors starting streaming are not reported, check computer to make sure it's not locked and Steam doesn't have a driver installation dialog up
  • Rumble on Xbox controllers causes a lag spike

Please make sure you have installed the build dated 7/24/2017 or newer in the app store and respond in this thread if you're running into any issues.

Note that Xbox One wireless and PS3/PS4 controllers are not supported.

Cheers!

PS4 controller works fine for me? Also, when will 4K be coming to 2016 tvs? I'm also still getting lag spikes whenever physical collisions happen in game, which doesn't occur on the exact same setup with the steam link.

That's a 2015 model, it's only available on 2016 and 2017. Should probably be in the original post.

JU/JS = 2015 UHD TV
KU/KS = 2016 UHD TV
MU/Q = 2017 UHD TV

2010-2015 TVs had a different operating system

Is it available only for 4k models or also for the 1080p models with the same Tizen systems as the KU/KS and MU/Q models? (I am still deciding on a model to buy, and Samsung charges a hefty premium for the 4k models in my country...).

For example the:
- M55xx (55, 49, 43 and 32'' in Europe)
- K63xx (40, 49 and 55'', in Europe and Latin America)
- K5xxx (32, 40, 49 and 55'', in Europe)

My TV is running Tizen OS. Which I believe is the same as the 2016-2017 models. I hoped my TV would be getting the Steam Link app too.

I need help with pairing, I have UE40KU6000UXRU and windows 10 pc in the same network - TV is 192.168.0.61 and PC is 192.168.0.100 connected to the same router. App doesn't see any steam-running PCs :(
What could be done?

I tested the app (LAN on ks7000 TV )and all seems to work fine. Had some difficulties to pair my steam controller but manually adding a controller in the setting menu using a regular mouse did the trick. In comparison to my steam link the latency seems according to the "performance overlay" even a bit better by 5 ms, which is great. There unfortunately is a bit of jitter during gameplay which does make the gameplay a bit unsmooth. Therefore I will still be using my Link until the jitter is gone. I have been greatly enjoying my steam link and controller, and a proper working app would be even better. I will test again after next update. Thanks steam!

Is the 4K streaming using HEVC?

I can't get the steam link to connect to my Host PC at all. I find it in the list of computers with steam installed, but when i enter the pin on my host PC nothing happens, no feedback no nothing.

i still see the beta app. What´s the new version?
Bota Jul 27, 2017 @ 2:57pm
Steam app does not work with the steam client beta. After the pin is inserted, nothing happens on the tv, but it pops up a windows to install steam audio drivers. They install, and appear on windows devices, but streaming does not work.

Had to opt out of steam client beta.

I've always had stuttering issues with the steam link. With this app, i disable nvfbc but leave nvidia hardware decoding enabled and i have no stutters. Well, only one or two every now and then. Nothing like before.
