ARK: Fear Evolved 2 & Patch 248 Update!
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=778883327

Get Ready for ARK: Fear Evolved 2, running from October 27 through Nov 6!

This sequel to the ultimate Survival Holiday-Themed Event will test your skills and your courage as you hunt for the legendary DodoWyvern across Scorched Earth, collecting up new cosmetics and costumes along the way. Back on The Island, you'll get to tame Snakes, and encounter rare Vampire Bats & Rabid Dire Wolves -- being bit by these infected creatures will give you Vampirism or Lycanthropy! Though you will become a monster, you will also gain incredible powers, whether it's the superhuman sight, speed, strength, and gliding of a Vampire, or the moon-triggered body-morphing ferocity of a Werewolf! Just beware the burning daylight (and stay stocked up on blood)! In Fear Evolved 2, sometimes the most dangerous creature on the ARK... is you!

Patch 248

We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the delay of the latest ARK Survival Evolved patch. Unfortunately, it’s going to take us a bit longer to get this out to you, this patch is filled with a tonne of content and new features and we’re needing to spend some more time on it -- the new v248 Release Date is October 18.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=778875411

A key feature of the patch our new Procedurally Generated ARK system. This will lead to endless opportunities for survivors to explore new lands and create new memories. We’re doing a lot of work to ensure that this first pass is really up to par to make sure you get a fulfilling experience and also creating a friendly user interface to make looking after your maps (multiple saves), and customizing & randomizing them much easier. Also, you’ll have the ability to share your maps very easily with others! Plus that’s not all we’ve got cooked up for this patch, there’s a tonne more to come and you can check out the rest of the upcoming notes here:

Patch Notes

So we apologize for the delay and hope you understand our reasoning for holding it back until it’s shiny, however once the patch does come out it’ll be better than ever and would have definitely been worth the wait!

We’ve got a lot planned in October and for the months ahead, and can’t wait to share it all with you! Thanks for your ongoing support and feedback you provide, it is all valued and pivotal to making ARK as good as it can be!

All the best,

Wildcard Jat & the ARK: Survival Evolved Team.

You should really consider getting any ETA's you have in mind and always add 4-7 days to that. Would be easier and less frustrating to both WC and the playerbase:p

You know I wish I could enjoy all this great work you guys are doing. Just one problem my server has been down since Oct 5 @ 4:22am I missed the entire evolution event because you guys can't keep servers up and running. I am wondering what the excuse is if it isnt because you guys have been hard at work to get the update out on time. That is clearly not the case.

I'm fine with things getting pushed back, but one thing that bothers me wtih this, and I'm sure many are in agreement, is the lack of communication from everyone on your end when this sort of thing happens.

I don't think it's too unreasonable for some explanations sometimes when things like this happen. Posts like this are nice because it does give us a heads up on what's going on. We need MORE like this when anticipated additions gets pushed back or pulled for extended periods.

I mean, look at the bridges. Those things got yanked from the patch notes and added back in so many times that many were blaming it for the delay.

I'm not saying we should get a list of every little thing that might be wrong, but if something gets pulled from an update, or an update gets pushed back by a significant margin, it would be nice to get some info as to why.

Here you mention about how you're trying to polish up the procedural arks. Okay well, if that's all that's causing it to get pushed back, why not yank it from the update like with the bridges in the past, and push out the stuff that is ready? If there's more to it, let us know.

It doesn't have to be huge technical deals, just even saying "Hey guys, listen, we're pulling the bridges for this update because apparently, once they reach a certain length, they auto destruct when the end point is placed. We're looking into it and we're gonna try to have them ready for the next update." Something small like that would go a long way to make a lot of people happy.

While I'm fine with the DLC, many obviously weren't and it severely hurt you in their eyes. Being more open with information like this would probably go a long way to repairing that damage.

Get over it. They did not have to tell us nothing they could have left you waiting by the PC. Can people like you appreciate anything?

WC I personally say take all the time needed to get it right. I play many other games with this type and love it. Looking forward to it. Hopin the hate stays to a min as you guys are doing your best and most of us know it.

I'm way over it, I'm like more than a year over it. I'm just saying it damages their reputation and frustrates their playerbase when they do so. They should just give their ETAs a large margin or simply stop putting those, because most players will get angry (myself NOT included).
