Structures+ is the first thing that comes to mind. It's actually being baked into the core game in a few months, but until then, that's definitely one you want to grab for better building.

Take a look at the S+ mod not sure if it does the place anywhere thing, but it definitely helps with building.

Edit: Seems the guy above me beat me to it

and for the no-collision, even with vanilla structures, enter the line

bDisableStructurePlacementCollision=True

into your game.ini

This one is good, not just for tree houses.

does it matter where in the game.ini i put it?

It needs to be under the heading in the game.ini.

If your single player there is a check box setting for it, no ini editing required.

As a PVE server admin who loves building, I was very interested in "Castles, Keeps, and Forts Medieval Architecture" mod, but its last update was more than 5 months ago, so I didn't took the plunge. Any feedback on its current state please ?

Structures Plus is a no brainer for me, with its ability to pick up items, its collection of triangle items, its glass tier and a bazillion other features. Above all, still actively maintained and updated !

CKF runs fine. I also recommend all the Eco mods, very awesome.

I wouldn't use S+ at all unless you like grinding for hours just to have it update and find out that all your crap you spent hours grinding for disappeared. Cause sadly it's happened to me more times then i care to count and the mod's author seems hell bent on blaming wildcard for it.

That isn't s+ fault. You are not properly updating your SP or server. Just do a roll back.

I would understand your point if it was a handful of people but when you have just about everyone that uses it having that same problem, there's usually a common denominator in all of it especially considering S+ is the only mod that does it. Plus lets not discount the fact that i've tried reaching out to the creator of S+ and honestly acts like he doesn't really give a damn about fixing it.

I've given it multiple chances and the results are ALWAYS the same with S+. Weather it's updated properly or not the mod updates and bases built wind up disappearing.

It is your choice not to use it. The mod author posted steps for updating the mod. He even has a thread to subscribe to for patch warnings. If you don't follow the directions, that's on you.

It's also my choice to warn people about not using it in it's current very unreliable very broken state as well. I've followed the mod authors steps, i've made shure it's been updated properly, and as i've said i don't give a damn what the mod author says as i've had anything i've used before from S+ blatently disappear even when there were no updates at all for it. Even further more S+ is the ONLY mod i run that i've had that extreme of a problem with stuff just pulling a vanishing act.
