Bad auto switch of production methods
Hello!

I've played every patch, all the latest versions (including beta 1.4), and I keep running into the problem that automatic production method switching doesn't work or works poorly.

When you start a game as a large country, by default inefficient production methods are always selected in a huge number of buildings (700+ for China). And this is despite the fact that all buildings have another available production method that would turn a profit. If you leave everything as is, no auto-switching will happen! Buildings will run at a loss until they shut down. If you manually switch all the methods, then the next month half of those buildings will again be unprofitable (because there will be a surplus of the selected good) and you have to switch the methods all over again. So the game doesn't calculate how production changes will affect the supply/demand balance.

On top of that, it's plainly visible how in the first years of the game the economies of all countries begin to decline significantly, and even before the plague starts your economic base is several times smaller than at the start of the game. Is this some kind of historical analogy, or why was this done? I don't really understand what causes this decline.

Also, as the game goes on, notifications constantly pop up that some building has become unprofitable, but when you go into it, an efficient production method is available there, yet for some reason it doesn't switch on automatically (even though that option is enabled).

All of this, early in the game and later, as a large country, creates unnecessary headaches, and it's unclear why it was implemented this way. Is it just me, or have other people run into these problems too?

I also don't understand why you can't select provinces where auto-construction is allowed to build. It's so simple and would help a lot. Right now, for large countries, auto-construction just builds everything everywhere across the country evenly. As a result the economic base grows sharply, but the tax base doesn't. In the end you become a homeless bum after 50 years if you have a large country with a low level of control on the periphery. Strange feature.
