GUN POWDER AND CANNONS
PARADOX. PLEASE LET US START IN THE AGE OF GUN POWDER AND NOT LATE MEDIEVAL. If I wanted medieval I would play CK3. I WANT TO KILL THE FRENCH WITH THE BRITISH RED COATS!

You know that 1337 is well within the European "Age of Gunpowder," right?

There are known English recipes for gunpowder dating to 1267 with visual and written records of the use of cannon and other firearms by 1327.

So trying to draw a line between the Medieval period and the "Age of Gunpowder" is laughable as they overlap in Europe by some 250 years. If one considers the overlap between the two in Asia, one looking at more like 500 years, that's about half the Medieval period.
He's absolutely right, I also want to start in 1400s. Gimme that OG 1492 start please!
I personally love the medieval combat at the start and the transition into gunpowder

The only real issue is that european nations began to blow up in the 1600's

so the first 200 years are just the setup phase?
1. Old start was 1444 wich was waaaaaay to early for cannons to apear (they are early, but earliest would be 1500ish for most)
2. dude... you can have handcannons as early as 1360... around 20 years into the 100 year war
3. gunpowder was a thing in asia even as early as in CK's earliest start ya know?.. other than the stupid ♥♥♥♥♥ called europeans the asians where contend with proper warfare and now cowardice ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thats why they did NOT develop cannons that early (they had early multi missle launchers thou... chinese are a strange bunch XD)

No, earliest cannon in Europe are times such as 1326, when cannon appear in written requisition orders for Florentine city armories, 1331, when they are used in the siege of Friuli, 1340 when they appear in inventories of English warships, and 1346 at Crecy. When the English have something that diffused from the Middle East and China.... its fairly well spread.
