Hansa as vassal?

Tried something new. They still exist, but not on my vassal list. I know this bc I just got a notice the Hansa converted to the one true faith. Cool beans, but really I'd like to annex them. Can't seem to figure out how to though. Thought they'd be cooler to have as a vassal given what a thorn they tend to be in my side on most playthroughs.

Long story short, a land based country can't annex a building based country.

If you want to familiarize yourself with how building based countries work, do a Japan run. Which is a ton of fun, but highlights all the work that still needs to be done with that particular mechanic.

And when I say Japan run, when selecting your country, change the map mode to building based country and play as one of the clans.

Game removed them from me without notice. I 'think" it happened when I declared war on someone with ties to them. Can't say for sure as I didn't notice till a few wars down the road. Is ok.. they'll regret that. :)
