this game is stupid
I built up napoli. i build and i build and i build and i conquer vassals and i expand control and i get allies. but no matter how much i improve my taxes seem to stay the same I build a new cloth factory gain 25 ducats then taxes go up 1200 ducats for some reason. I build an armory to gain military but then i cant afford it but my neighbor enemies just built 12 armories some how and have 12000 standing armies all of a sudden and I have 600. wtf kind of balance is this. I went to war with a country with 4 allies and 5 times the troops combined and not one country came to fight just massed troops at borders and did nothing the whole war. I wanna love this game but its got so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugs its almost unplayable. EU4 was such a great replayable game I will probably go back. Trying to combine 2 great games eu4 and Crusader Kings3 was a interesting idea. but it needs a lot of polishing.

Do not worry, its likely because you started your economy in the wrong way. Easy mistake to make in this game, especially because the low price of buildings compel you to build them first. What you actually want to do is to increase your RGOs first before you go heavy into industry.

Problem is the wealth and tax system, it can easily happen that your wealth runs away from your tax and that is very bad for money gain. RGOs, even though quite expensive, give you just straight up more money, whereas buildings are connected to production of resources which need enough pop to buy those resources and the markets are also intertwined with that... its a whole thing. But RGOs just give you straight money.

You also want to increase control to increase taxes out of your locations. A location with a lucrative resource is your best friend. Maximise the RGO and control, Bailiffs are very good source for that.

Looks like Naples has a lot of Dyes, which is perfect. Focus on them. Maximise RGOs, increase control and then build your Fine Cloth production.

Edit: Correction, its Wine and not Dyes. They look too similar on the wiki map. Doesnt matter, just look for your most lucrative resources and pump those RGO numbers. If there arent any, just pump the RGO numbers in your capital province. You want to develope locations that have at least 50 control, in the best case 70-80 and thats usually happening in your capital province for the majority of nations.
I had the same problem for a long time. The poster above is correct. You need to build out your RGOs, increase control, and maximize crown power. Once you start producing production buildings, you need to build buildings that will consume the product. Upgrading villages to towns and then towns to cities helps along with building buildings like the Library.

The thing that slowed me down for a long time was input costs. You need to overproduce the most common inputs or they will end up spiraling. Build the labor-intensive buildings you need to produce resources you lack among your RGOs.
