Primal Carnage: Extinction

Primal Carnage: Extinction

Does anybody else think this game needs new gamemodes?
This game has 4 game modes. In which only 1 is good (TDM). GTTC pretty much just becomes beating your head against the wall for 15 minutes, because apparently some maps at 2nd stage can last 15 minutes-20 minutes.

Anyway I think that this game could definitely improve from more game modes. There's also a game mode called "Hunt" But it's literally only in singleplayer even though it's clearly meant for multiplayer. The game mode hunt is about a cloaked raptor that has to kill a group of humans. I would love that, it could be an infection like mode where if a raptor kills a human then that human would be converted into a cloaked raptor.

On another topic, I remember hearing about survival getting a rework WHICH IT KINDA DID. But not really, they added different parts of the map that you can access, which really didn't do much. AI still gets stuck outside the map, the acro boss fight is so ♥♥♥♥. You also cant use the new human weapons in Survival. So clearly survival hasn't really been makeovered, and theres a reason why NOBODY PLAYS IT. I could easily see survival being expanded (especially the boss fights, stage interactions, etc) I thought of a head cannon on white forest where their can be fence blackouts in a certain section, where it can either restrict where you go our lock you in a certain zone, which can be considered a holding point.

oh and theres also CTE (capture the egg) but nobody actually plays it. ever

I understand that the devs are working on getting the PS4 port out, and they're focusing most resources on that. Which I fully support, but I feel like a reason why this game is dying can also be related to the lack of game modes. You can play TDM but TDM eventually gets boring, and nowadays nobody plays GTTC or survival. You can find people on free roam ofc but I find chill and kill servers kind of weird. And also new game modes can be very fun to play and for the devs to make, even just updating the existing game modes would probably be fun. For example Survival isn't a PVP but a PVE game mode so you dont have to worry about PVP balancing, and in general I think it'd be much easier to balance.

Thats just my opinion on the matter, i'm open to opinions on this matter.

I know of one which "should" be suitable for this game...

Conquest.

In this gamemode:
🟡Both sides must capture all control points to gain territory and hold it for 10 seconds.
🟡Each team starts with 200 or 500 lives, kill all enemies to win the match. (Like Team Deathmatch but reverse.)
🟡Control Point contestant should take a few seconds, 10 or 20 to be precise. (Depending how many players capturing one control point.)
🟡Small maps contain 5 control points, medium maps 10 and big maps 15.
🟡Additional reinforcements occur after successfully capturing certain control points for additional boost.
I do hope that they bring back Dino Deathmatch, but actually make some balances to it. It was a really fun gamemode imo, don't know why it got deleted.

They should also add a few context voice lines for the human characters. Something like "watch those wrist rockets" or "just like the simulations!" :cf_makoto:

I almost forgot Dino Deathmatch was supposed to be revamped.. Too bad Dinosauriac has become easily swayed by the wrong crowd which overtook the official discord like a virus into making everything, including the balance, human-favored, so a dinosaur-only gamemode seems really out of the picture these days.

LOL
New game modes would be nice, but you know what else this game needs? New maps.

It's been 2 years and 4 months since the last new map was added. Let that sink in.

It's a great idea, I would enjoy it and I think many others would.

I think there should be an among us game mode where 1 human is actually a scalie that tricks all the other mean dinosaurs into believing that they are also a dinosaur, but they are a human trapped inside a dinosaur skin and doing things like sitting on a nest but secretly sabotaging the eggs. I think that would make this game come alive

*I think the debug map would be perfect for this idea

among us.

tbf anything can be good for this game bc of how deprived it is rn

Yup, we had one of the devs gauge for interest two years ago and the community seemed to be up for it:

The same dev said he had fixed the issues preventing the mode from being worked on as well, there was some talks about balance and suggestions for a while but the devs eventually just became silent about it.

Freeroam basically removing teams. Humans can damage humans. Dinos can damage dinos and they can still also damage each other. Wouldn't matter for scores because it's free roam. I think it would be nice as a toggle-able option at least. Make it so folks have to worry about friendly fire. Then people could improve a dino vs. dino session if they so chose to as well and it wouldn't be the same as an official dino vs. dino but it would be a band aid and I think it would give Freeroam more substance. It's kind of cayos time so let a freeroam server be just full cayos if wanted.

*Dino Escape.
The simplest version of this idea is that the dinos have been corralled into some kind of gated or otherwise closed area. Their goal is to escape said area. Human goal is to get the timer to run out without allowing the dinos to do this. They've got some kind of sleep gas bomb coming in and they need to keep the dinos in the fence untill that happens. One of the humans has the key/keycard or some other item that can be used to get away if the dinos get ahold of it but they don't know which human has it and the humans (who do know who has it) can pass it between each other to make it harder to figure out. Once a dino has the key the humans have to try and kill it before it gets to the gate because if it gets to the gate then the area is open and the dinos win. A dino who gets the key item of course should try to get to the gate as fast as possible.

A more complicated version would basically reverse get to the chopper where the dinosaurs are competing a series of tasks to get out of an enclosure or facility or something while the humans try to stop them. Taking a little inspiration from jurrasic park some kind of natural disaster damaged something and now some critter is loose. You could even do something like only have one class free at the start and those classes break security on other pens/cages which then allows other players to spawn as those new things. Chew up a generator. Rip a keypad out of the wall. Bite wires. You could have the unlocking of a class be the mini-quest. Raptor frees spitter which shorts out something that results in releasing the bruisers which then smash glass of an aviary releasing the flyers and they reach something no other dino can which ends up freeing the tyrants. Now dino team has the power to smash whatever the last barrier is. There could be a distructible wall or a wall with a distructible part only a tyrant can break.
Instead of a timer for the questing each breakable thing would have its own health meter. Like the above idea the humans are trying to stall things to the end of a timer for their win. Unlike the human quests in get to the chopper you don't just stand by a thing. You do have to attack said thing but at the same time the progress doesn't reset if you're away from the area so the humans really want to try and keep those dinos away if they can. Probubly should not be allowed to place a trap directly on the quest spot but I feel like there's a lot of flexibility there otherwise.

*Catch the compy. A game mode that actually makes compys a useful thing. There's one compy somewhere on the map. It has a tracking chip and the humans get some kind of indicator from time to time to help them find it but it's not as in your face as the oviraptor or Ptera's marker and only gives you a vauge direction. Compy's job? Stay a compy for as long as possible. That's how you get points. Whichever human finds you gets a point of their own but they also become the compy. So humans are spesificly wanting to be the one to find the compy while the compy is trying not to be caught. You can get even more points by making noise as the compy too. Apparently they already have a right mouse squeak move so....

100 percent agree with you on this. That's a great idea. It could literally just be an improvise Dino V Dino gamemode, and more options for free roam would be nice.

Both of these idea's are the ones that imo would work the best in implementation/most fun/and interactive. GTTC rn is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tbh. Thanks for the comments mate
