Can't change resolution from 4k
The only resolution I have available is 4k. I want to lower it 1440p but there is only the 3840x2160 option in the drop down list in game

If you have it in Fullscreen Borderless it will use your desktop resolution. Try putting it in proper Fullscreen.

I could change it despite being in Fullscreen Borderless

Might depend on your display. I game on a 50" 4K TV and quite a few games act weird in borderless. There's a check games do with your display to see which resolutions it's capable of. TVs and monitors handle that check differently. OP might be playing on a TV.

Unless.. you're playing on a TV as well?

Monitor, lets see what OP has to say.
The issue was that my aspect ratio setting defaulted to "Custom". Changing it to 16:9 let me change my resolution.

There's no such thing in D3D12.

I know. I just meant use the Fullscreen option. Some games just behave differently when that is selected, especially Ubisoft Anvil games. Don't know why. Valhalla is a real problem with it. Like I said though, I think it's down to certain models of smart TVs and/or monitors with how they communicate established, detailed and standard resolutions to the PC, may depend on the DisplayID version used... not sure.

Anyway.. OP figured out the problem.
