We Need Time Passing
Its 2025. We should have the option to decide what time of day we want to explore, complete the story...etc. At the bare minimum give us a day night option like in Valhalla. Really poor design choice. Would also love an in game camera depth adjustment option.

I just completed another time quest. Wait until night to assassinate someone.

You only have to wait 24 minutes. I explored the vicinity of the town in the snow.

By the time I returned, it was go-time.

Not a big deal. There are more than enough things to do in this game to kill 20 minutes.

Yes, and its weird that there isnt one. Its a common thing and they had it in all the games since origins

What if you have every single square inch of the map already explored?

Heck, I'd sit for 24 minutes atop of a tree and wait like I thought I would, but when you're not moving the passing of time slows down to a crawl.

All in the name of "Naoe is powerful at night" balance, while simultaneously giving us things like Hidden Hand and the Vanish armor.
It already has season change option so lack of day night change is a bit dumb.

It would be weird when they have time passing - there was also no time passing in real Japan at this time ;) As above: Just do something in this time - there are many things to do in this game and just plan your time schedule.
We do.

Other AC games had it, it makes sense for a ninja to strike at night and waiting/ loitering 24 minutes is a waste of time when you want to do something locked to a certain time of the day.

I am a bit torn on this.

On the one hand, yes, it would be handy to be able to change the time of day. I enjoy exploring at daytime a lot more than at night. No arguing here.

But on the other hand it's also nice to have to deal with the situation at hand and make the best out of it. You know, emergent gameplay and all that. Sure, it would be nice to sneak into this castle at night (aka. easy mode) but it's noon so you better show your worth and do the best you can under these circumstances.

I don't know. Yes, it would be neat to be able to change the time of day, but on the other hand I think we would lose something, if that makes sense?
Everyone claims they want immersion and when they make the game more immersive by not letting you cheat time then everyone complains about that too. I used the time gimmick all the time in Odyssey because I liked doing forts at night and I thought I'd miss it in Shadows but really only once did I have to wait around for 5 minutes waiting for dark. Last night I cleared 2 forts in the daytime with Naoe and it was pretty easy especially now that the second assassination with a kunai works correctly

i think they remove the option to play with the night/day option because tbh, in odyssey i was abusing it when i played half the game in assassinat mode, i had a night build who was OP xD
so i think for shadow, they didnt wanted us to abuse it....but its a single player game, who care , give us the option to be a god

Funny thing, The last 2 ghost recon games (WL and BP) have this feature.

According to Ubisoft, the reason they didn't include time passing in this entry is because the stealth mechanics change depending on time of day, and they didn't want players abusing time pass to benefit from this mechanic 100% of the time.

Now, I think this inevitably comes to personal preference. I personally don't mind the lack of control on that, and instead, having to adapt to the current situation. But I see how this might bother other players.

Maybe a toggleable option on the difficulty settings would help pleasing more people. Maybe a mod will eventually be created to solve that for PC players.

+1 for a way to wait time, but also a player option to ignore daylight for stealth and make it a bit like if it's night.

For camera, I'd love have an option to have it a lot closer, I thought I had it mostly first person in previous games, but perhaps not, still I quote I don't like cam position in ACS, didn't notice in previous titles.

Horizon has the same problem. Pitch black night in game and no easy way to pass time just to be able to see anything again.

Yes day/night cycle is very clever but totally impractical for actual game play unless you live in a basement.

Ramping exposure to max during game night cycles just to be able to see anything at all it not a viable solution but mandatory unless you like stumbling around with a pitch black screen. With it maxed out in day time it looks terrible so you have to reset it.
This exactly!
None of the older AC games have a day/night cycle gimmick and Odyssey was the first. Actually I think it was something they borrowed from Witcher 3 and was only used in Odyssey, Valhalla, and Mirage with the other 11 games in the series not having it
I didn't like the lack of a "sleep" option in Tsushima, I don't like it in this either.
Fortunately, neither night or day is nearly as annoying not to have when you want it as it is in Tsushima.
