Ubisoft Just Made the Smartest Move in Gaming History.
Alright, let’s get one thing straight: Ubisoft’s deal with Tencent is one of the best things to happen to gaming in YEARS—and if you’re mad about it, you’re either stuck in the past or just looking for an excuse to whine.

First off, let’s address the fake outrage. The same people who spent the last five years crying about Ubisoft’s “stagnation” and “boring open-world formulas” are now furious that the company is actually doing something about it? Make it make sense. Tencent’s investment doesn’t mean Ubisoft is suddenly going to start pumping out mobile gacha garbage—what it does mean is that Ubisoft now has actual financial stability to fund the massive AAA projects you claim to want.

Let’s not pretend like Ubisoft was in a good place before this. The company was bleeding money, delaying games left and right, and struggling to find a direction. Now? They just secured €1.16 billion (yes, BILLION) to actually build the future of their biggest franchises—Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six—all the stuff people still play and love.

“But Tencent bad!” Oh, please. You were fine when Sony bought Bungie. You were fine when Microsoft swallowed Activision Blizzard whole. But now that a Chinese company gets a minority stake (25% in a spin-off, NOT Ubisoft itself), suddenly it’s the end of gaming as we know it? Give me a break.

Here’s the harsh truth: Ubisoft wasn’t going to magically turn things around on its own. The alternative was layoffs, game cancellations, and an even worse death spiral. Instead, they played it smart, secured funding, and positioned themselves to make better, bigger games without the constant financial panic. If you can’t see why that’s a win, maybe it’s time to touch grass and stop getting your gaming takes from Twitter.

Ubisoft just saved itself. Cope and seethe.

At this point, are you trying to convince others, or just yourself?

smh....
Yeah I don't think being bought up by a company underneath the CCP, a country and government well known for scamming, screwing over and faking nearly everyone and everything, is a good change.
10k layoffs incoming. Cannot wait.

Companies they own shares.

Riot Games (League of Legends) – 100 percent
Grinding Gear Games (Path of Exile) – 80 percent
Epic Games – 40 percent
Larian Studios – 30 percent
FromSoftware – 16 percent

They all seem to be doing fine.

Tencent is hands off only when a company is making profit, Ubislop clearly isn't. Tencent is gonna walk into Ubisoft carrying a kitchen sink.

Who cares. If good games come out of it... awesome. If more live service garbage comes out if... I'm sure a few ubislop enjoyers will be happy about it.

Riot has issues
GSG, much as I like POE2. Has issues.
Epic has issues.

Tencent isn't allowed to mess with Larian, As they dont own majority
Fromsoft. Again. Same thing. Not majority

Remember that time Microsoft saved Bethesda? That lead to much better games for all of us! RIGHT?
