The number of players doesn't mean anything. Even people who will try the game via Ubisoft+ for a couple of hours just to uninstall it will probably be counted.

I'm curious to see the number of sales of individual copies, physical or digital. You know, people who really spent money specifically on this game and not in a subscription service with many other games.

I wonder why you want to ignore subscriptions altogether….

You do know that this also provides them with revenue, right? Riiiiiight?

1. Its on ubisoft +

2. You don’t have any actual data to back up your assumptions.

Maybe all the people roleplaying as financial analysts and investors need to snap back to reality.

Where did you get that number from?

It's getting outsold on steam by a bunch of Indies at the moment. It'll continue to move off the list.

Was Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Origins a success?

That doesn’t mean much of anything…

You realise that steam isn’t the only platform in existence right?

And you also realise that just because a game is selling less copies than a different game that it isn’t automatically doing badly, right?
I think people here are underestimating the money you can earn with subscription services. Some will only pay for a month, but with a long game like this, many will continue to subscribe and once they're in, they might also try other Ubisoft titles and play them with the subscription. Or cancel the subscriptuon and buy one of the older games they've tried, which is almost as good. Then there are always a few players who'll simply forget to cancel their subscription. This is something all subscription services count on. Then some players will return for the DLC and also pay for another month. And there's also ingame purchases. The bigger your player base, the more you can sell in game.

In the end, some of the subscribers will pay the same or sometimes even more in comparison to buying the game. There are reasons why companies like these services so much.

Lmfao just when you thought the "go woke go broke" crowd couldn't be humiliated any further
Ohh for god sakes man. Player numbers are different from sales numbers. How are people still getting confused by this? The entire fanbase is just are coping hard arent they?

Because people pay Ubisoft+, Game Pass and others to have as many games as possible for the lowest price they can. It doesn't say anything about the actual interest people may have for a particular title or IP. The individual sales on the other hand, even the player counter here on Steam, says a lot more about the real success of Shadows.

this is not sales. this is player reached. Find me an official tweet that talks about copies sold. Also cool but they still need an other 5 million (at least maybe more depending on how poeple access the game since they are not buying full price copies).

I never thought I would see a day where people would simp for a company like this one... But here we are,
