How to switch off lens dirt, bloom and glow in New 'n' Tasty
Hi all.

A little while back we looked at implementing toggles for the bloom, lens effects and glow - partly to address user feedback and partly to improve performance to some degree for certain PC spec configurations.

To reiterate, as we've seen some recent complaints regarding the effects, users can switch the effects by editing the following file:

[NNT INSTALL FOLDER] / Settings / [STEAM USER ID#] / PostProcessingSettings.cfg

If it's not there, just create the file, as so:

Bloom = True Glow = True LensDirt = True

Obviously set the values to False rather than True if desired. :)

These are options for Glow (the soft lighting effect cast by lights in the game), Bloom (an effect that produces feathered light edges) and LensDirt (meant to replicate the look of a camera). All can be toggled to True or False as required.

Hope that helps. :)

Thank you for this explanation. Ive already knew it; but it might be helpful for some users. These effects are an "overlay" fot the cut-scenes too, right?

No, the cut-scenes are pre-rendered with the effects baked in.

But you cant turn off these effects in prerendered cut-scenes, which also very blury upscaled 30 fps 720p mess with poor AA applied.

How about to switch them back to real time in-engine footage it was originaly recorded from? I would rather see loading screen but clean cutscene without those ugly effects and with scalable 4k graphics.

At least re-render them IN REAL 1080p@60 without those effects and apply effects as overlay (you can pre-render them with transparent bg or apply shaders in real time) above clean video footage, so that overlays can be switched off!

Prebaking thing - shortsighted and bad practice, but its never to late to fix this mistake.

And never ever do any pre-rendered cut-scenes in your games again! Its 2016 - time when real time cutscenes with high resolution, AA, and shader injections looks way better than pre-renders, and real time scenes takes much less space!

If it were possible to render those cutscenes without these effects that would be amazing. Just purchased the complete pack by the way!
