RimWorld
Is there an anti-retard mod for pawn?
I'm wondering if there's a mod, or some other way, to stop my pawns from running into the middle of a firefight. I've got two pawns with no combat skills, so they do everything except fight. I get raided by the enemy, big firefight ensues, bodies hit the floor, people are bleeding all over the place.

The fight's going pretty well on my side, better weapons and armor, that is until the doctor decides to run into the middle of the battlefield, why? To clean up blood. There's a godd**n firefight with 30+ pawns on both sides, and this f**king moron gets turned into swish cheese because he wanted to clean up some blood.

I know I could use zones, or draft him inside the base during the fight, but I was hoping there was a mod that would give my pawns enough IQ points to figure out, "Duh, big gun fight, me no run at."

Well, the game can only work within the boundaries on the engine. If a pawn has medical assigned and it needs doing is his alloted zone, then they're going to go do it, especially as Medical is usually a high priority assignment. Just set a zone round the usual combat zone, invert it, then assign it when you get raided to non combat personnel.

I don't think there's a mod for something you already have the tools to avoid, sorry.

Is it due to mental break or the game undrafting the pawn? If it's the former, you'll have to do mood management to solve it. If it's the latter, there are mods that extend or remove the auto undraft timer. Don't remember it off the top of my head but I'm sure I could find it.

Le edit: here's one that does it (other mods may exist that do the same, #NotSpon):

you can set them to avoid enemies when not drafted? i know it aint perfect but he should flee to a certain extent, he may still try but hopefully runs at a good enough range, if not surely there is a mod that allows you to tweak that value

...I know I could use zones...

Then... why not assign them to a "Safe Zone" during fights?

Added: I set up Safe Zones for specific uses, like for noncombatants, all colonists during certain events, animals, Visitors (For Hospitality Mod) and the like and have become a habituated user of them. It's pretty much "part of the game." If you don't get in the habit of doing that, you'll eventually wish you had.

You can set pawn behavior to "Flee" and that should help if they're attacked. Honestly, I don't know if they will interpret an enemy presence and then trigger that response without themselves being targeted by something, though. Try it out.

But, there is an intended bit of management you're supposed to do when engaging enemies. As mods weed through all these tiny fiddly bits, the "game" part of Rimworld during firefights starts to get seriously watered down. With each mod that does what the player should have done, already, the gameplay becomes less valuable, IMO.

But, in an effort to help you have the gameplay you want, one of these might help:

Better pawn control is best for you. You can set zones to be automatic during raids, no more micromangment.
As soon as the raid start all people are assisned to the zone with one mouse click on the emergency button, all animals are assigned automatic and clothing restriction are changed.

And all of that with no click. 100% nice with NoPause challange

I'll try pawn control, and I was a tad ticked when I wrote the first post. I usually do zone my non-coms during a raid, but I got distracted in game by about a dozen different things that all needed doing at the same time, then the raid hit pretty fast with drop pods. I just really annoys me that there's a raging battle going on and my doctor walks onto the battlefield like it's no thing to try and clean up some blood.

you don't need a mod. Just set area and limit your non combat pawns to a safe zone.
