Looking for a mod that makes happy prisoners not starting/joining a prison break
I know its truely heretical not to commit war crimes on all my prisoners but but i would really like to try this crazy idea where having happy, healthy and well fed prisoners would not result in them commiting suicide by wardens. I dont want to implant the xenogene to disable prison breaks into all of them and all i found in regards to mods are mods that disable prison breaks at all.

Does anyone know of a mod that does this?

High mood does have an effect, in that it allows you to recruit them faster which means less time for them to escape. So happy prisoners is already encouraged by the game and I always make nice prisons for potential recruits. You can avoid other prisoners joining an escape by spacing their rooms more than 20 tiles apart.

I don't know of any mod that does what you want though. There are multiple mods that add recreation to prisoners though so you can treat them even nicer if you want.

Ceiling mounted turrents inside the prision. Won't stop them joining, but it will stop them running.
the vanilla expanded less than lethal could be an option for you. the stun batons are great for wardens. Yes, they can still kill people with LTL weapons, but that actually still makes sense.

(heh i also save scum cough cough fish for good timelines when i have prisoners i dont want to injure)

Thanks for the suggestions, those are rather similar to what i do anyway.
Thing is: I want to try for once to be actually nice and not only save the best pawns to recruit but all of them and instead of just dropping them out into the frozen wasteland the plan is to arrange a nice transport to the empire. Which means if you collect dozens of pawns that gives you a huge change that one of them is getting stupid ideas even at 100% mood.
I do have tranquilizer turrets ready for that but even with those due to the sheer number of pawns it requires either a ton of turrets (which means they actually lethally overdose them) or less turrets and my wardens have to get their hands dirty and still randomly murder them if they land some "lucky" hits. And amputing their legs doesnt work since then the empire doesnt take them and it would be back to "totally not a war crime, just a normal tuesday".

There's no mod that does exactly what you requested unfortunately.

However you do have some options available to you:

There is a mod that prevents prisoners from having all door keys and moving through your base freely. (has an option for slave rebellions to have the same mechanic)

There's a mod that allows you to enslave pawns and recruit them later while they are enslaved. (enslaving is vastly easier than recruiting, so its a good intermediate option imho, you enslave them first and then work on recruiting them like you normally would)

Personally, I'd get Recruit Slaves and combine it with Slave Rebellions Improved and optionally Prisoners don't have Keys . This way you can get those slaves to start working and earning their keep while you start converting them. If they then try to rebel against you, those slaves who are properly suppressed will not join the rebellion and remain docile little slaves.

You can mimic slaves being strict prisoners by restricting their 'area' to only their prisons if you want too. This will get you as close as possible to the original request you made.

Just realized: The easiest and least mod intrusive option is too actually install the 'No prison breaks' mod.

This way they will only riot if their low moods cause them to break and riot and no other prisoners will join the riot because it's triggered per pawn and not as an prison event.

Effectively: prisoners will only riot if their mood is too low causing them to break and riot and only that specific prisoner will riot and none others will auto join unless they break them out because you were unable to suppress the first guy.
