You can have a Long game if you manage to survive but mostly you die after a couple years because raids get way to big.

edit: and it depends wich Storyteller you took

Isn't there some kind of lategame objective, which allows you to win?

From what I can tell, the longer you play the more bugs your going to encounter. It also depends on which AI you choose, as Randy Random is going to try to kill you pretty early as where Cassandra will most likely give you plenty to prepare for attacks and then lots of time to repair the damage.

Well, you can build a Spaceship and flee off the world but its basically so that you can choose when you want to end the colony

edit: its not a quest you ''have to'' complete

You eventually build a ship and leave, depending on your tech level. I am not sure about the new things for the scenario editor

I for myself disabled the Spaceship buildings, so if i wanna end my colony they have to fight till death and not just fly away :P

You don't have to do that late game objective (building a spaceship anf leaving)

The great thing about rimworld is that you never really lose. If all your colonists die, then you just wait for about 30 seconds and then a wanderer joins and finds the ruins, and you can start again. Although in some cases, you may just want to quit.

So alter the question to say how long does it take for all colonists to die out, then the answer is that it depends on the difficulty and your skill. I usually play for around 10 hours before the raids get big, and moods get low. But I'm getting better

OMG and here I am at new game #8 or something, DERP. Wanderers keep joining is that random btw that wanderers join and such ?

Draylynn Jul 17, 2016 @ 7:55am
Wanderer's randomly join your colony, you can take prisoners and convert them too.
✠Passi965✠ Jul 17, 2016 @ 7:56am
Well, its not really Random if/when a Wanderer joins your colony, it mostly depends on the Storyteller but it also depends on your Colonies Wealth, if they have alot of Gold for example the Storyteller wont send them as often anymore.

A wanderer will always join your colony if all colonists die out

They did it so youre Colony wont get overflown with Colonists, or do you want to feed 100+ Colonists?

Yes I do. Send all them bietches to war =3 Make real ladies out of them :D We would become a great and powerfull nation.

Ooooh yea, Dis game has no tutorial so your gonna start over a few times anyhow. Other then that other areas give different tactics you can use, also with multiple story tellers and a bunch of mods you can replay this almost infinitly

Don't dabble too long over a lost colony, the retrying again and again is a big part and a big charme about the game.

That said there is already a ton of mods that add complexity and longlivity to the game. I'm not sure if they are up to date with the current steam version but it should be around the corner I would think.
