enter other tiles of the world?
Hi there,

is it possible to enter other parts/tiles of the world where no event takes place and no other settlement is located?

For example I want to enter a part of the world that is only three tiles away from my home settlement because there are ores that don't exist in my settlement.

But when i send a caravan there I can't "enter" the tile/part of the world. My caravan wanders there there on the world map but i cant get to the "micro map"...no option anywhere to enter the area.

Thanks for any hints.

You can only have one settlement. But there is an option in the menu to increase the number of settlement to 5 max. This let you have multiple settlements. If you change the number of settlements, you will be able to create an second home, get what you want and abandon it after.

Generaly I wait for a quest with the type of stone I want and go there with a bunch of animals.

In vanilla no. You have to create a settlement and then abandon when you are finished.

Mods on the other hand offer something like this. Set up camp being my personal option.

Set Up Camp doesn't allow you to enter hexs on the map, it creates it's own RNG "event hexes" that are temporary. If you want to go to a hex and mine the base game system makes more sense, just bump up the number of settlements in the game options and move a caravan to that tile and click settle, now you can have a mining colony there for as long as you want. Once you get everything you want from it you abandon that colony and the tile remains exploited so you can't go back and do it again on the same tile. Set Up Camp on the other hand allows you to go to a hex on the map and keep creating random temp maps there again and again forever, the mod is meant more for situations where you are traveling long distance and want/need to stop temporarily to rest or gather food without breaking that hex from future visits.

True.
But im use that to mine some materials (components mainly, and everything else what i can find: uranium, jade, etc).
And that mod is awesome when i have an injured / incapacitated pawn. Camp there and wait till he/she can walk.

Unless you mined out all the mountains in your settlement, there is a pretty much the same amount of ores in your settlement.

It's also great for everything else because you can set up camp, grow all the food you want, research everything without ever getting raided.

You get the same result by enabling god mode but I guess some people don't like to admit to cheating.
