We want a Performance Patch!
EDIT: Thank you Square-Enix for the resolution and graphic options.

There is still one more thing that could use some work, and that is the performance of this game.
http://www.pcgamer.com/final-fantasy-xiii-and-xiii-2-port-analysis-durantes-verdict/#page-1

Go to Page 2 of the article above to read about the performance and how this patch didn't change how this game performs.

"With the release of Final Fantasy XIII-2 and the patch to its predecessor, Square-Enix delivered exactly what they said they would—graphics options—but no more than that. The intermittent performance stutters remain unsolved, and the selection of options only covers the bare minimum.
Personally, I find it both flattering and somewhat worrying that the graphics options they did decide to include match the ones I implemented (by means of an unauthorized interception method without any access to the game’s source code, and within a couple dozen or so hours of hobbyist work) so closely. Is there really no interest in the company to give a single graphics programmer a month or so to develop some highly meaningful features, such as better shadow filtering or a higher quality depth of field implementation? Perhaps fix whatever causes the engine hiccups?
It’s a shame to see such an incredibly beautiful game world with so much effort put into its art assets neglected to this extent. Of course, the situation now is already vastly better than the locked 720p without any options offered at release, and these are obviously the best versions of each game to play by a huge margin, but much more could be achieved with a bit more focused effort."
- Durante

One more good patch is all it would take to bring this game justice.
Please Square Enix, youv'e done it before so I'm sure you can listen to your fans again.

Also it wouldn't hurt if you could implement some of the other things listed below that have yet to be included in your FF13 titles.

If you fix this game completely then all 3 titles in the series will be even more amazing than they are now.

Once again, thank you Durante and Square-Enix for your continued efforts!

Send in some support tickets to get the rest of the list patched into this game. -See below for the long list of items that need to be fixed and patched into the game.
*******************************************************************************************************

It has been almost a month and 0 patches have been "rolled out". The first thing that needs to be patched is the game crashing on launch and not even launching at all!
Refer to this thread for more info: http://forums.na.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=17327

EDIT: A patch has been rolled out, but all it did was fix the ESC button closing the game. Even though they have announced that they will be adding resolution/graphic options to the title; remember that there are many other things that need to be patched!
Please read below as to the amount of things that still need to be fixed. There is still a long list of things they haven’t acknowledged and/or fixed.
For example the bad and unstable frame rates, performance issues, game not running smooth when HUD/minimap is enabled, and most importantly: the game refusing to launch and crash at startup. The list goes on and on so until 90 percent of the fixes roll out, I see no reason to close the post or the petitions. We can still by all means continue to send in support tickets and post in the game hub and Square Enix forums. This battle is far from won.

No mention of performance fixes. Frame times are insane, even if you can manage 60FPS; there is a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton of microstuttering.

Not to mention, there is no mention of higher resolution 2D UI elements, they will probably just filter them to the render resolution. (When it's more than likely they HAVE high res assets). Several users have been able to basically re-create all of the 2D Text elements in high resolution without an issue. So why would it be for them?

PLEASE OPTIMIZE YOUR GAME SQUARE ENIX!!!

Be sure to send in as many support tickets as you can and as often as you can. They need to be aware that these are not small issues and need to be worked on!
http://support.na.square-enix.com/contacttop.php?id=&la=1

Another good post indicating some other issues as well: http://steamcommunity.com/app/292120/discussions/0/613939294308622547/

And why does the game run a lot smoother with the minimap/hud disabled?
That doesn't make any sense! Fix that please. Fine tune all the performance issues, high end PC's should not have to deal with the game not running optimally, especially when the game is over 5 years old!

We need to create another pinned thread like the "We want Japanese Audio" one.
+1 this post, and be sure to sign the petition one of our fellow Final Fantasy fans has created for us: http://www.change.org/p/final-fantasy-13-pc-version-1920x1080-and-graphic-options-give-the-pc-version-of-final-fantasy-13-the-ability-to-change-graphical-settings
Let’s take some of the support from here straight to the Square Enix forums so that the developers can actually see and respond to our concerns.
http://forums.na.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=17371

-We need a proper way to quit the game not just pressing the escape button, for example pressing pause and a menu to press "Quit to Title" and "Quit to Windows"
-We need audio options (the sound is just too low right now and it could be better quality)
-Graphic options such as Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering, Tessellation, etc. And the ability to control the resolution the game runs at.

SUPPORT CUSTOM RESOLUTIONS!
1080p support at a minimum! Some people have weird monitors with weird Aspect Ratios. This stuff is important!
-This game needs to use multithreading (using more than a single CPU core), because that is the core issue behind the unstable framerate. That is the priority because even if they add 1080p without fixing this issue first, you will have 1080p with 30-60 frames skipping wherever they want anyway, like it is right now. Most people here at the bare minimum use a Quad-Core CPU, and thus would like to put it to full use, even Alan Wake which came out on PC a few years ago makes full use of all cores in multicore CPU's. The game is being bottlenecked by only utilizing a single core, so no matter how strong your graphic card may be, the game will struggle to run even on high-end machines.

A PS3 will always render FFXIII at 720p. It will then upscale or downscale (software-based since the PS3 doesn't support hardware scaling) that output to your TV's native resolution. The PC version of FFXIII will (currently) always render at 720p. It will then upscale (but not downscale) that output to your monitor's native resolution. Most people's HDTV's have native resolutions of 1080p. And even those people with 720p HDTVs usually have native resolutions of 1366x768, rather than actual 1280x720. Most computer monitors these days have native resolutions of 1080p. So regardless of the platform, most people will not be seeing this game at it's "native resolution". These are not opinions. These are facts and when I say that the PC version will upscale, it's actually being done by either your monitor or your GPU. The game itself won't actually scale anything.

FULL SET OF GRAPHICS OPTIONS!
Allow users to change Antialiasing, Anisotropic Filtering, V-sync, Shadow Resolution etc.
-Better optimization for the game so that it can run better for different graphic cards (AMD, Nvidia). Some people run it perfectly fine without any issues, and some people can't run it at all due to unplayable frame rates and other graphical issues.

LET USERS CHOOSE WHICH LANGUAGE THEY WANT TO DOWNLOAD!
The Dual Audio support is a welcome feature, but you've nearly doubled the size of the download! 60GBs is no joke! I'd like to be able to right-click the game in my library, and have the option to uncheck Japanese Audio. Simple! Or have an optional DLC download for the people that want the extra option. For free of course.

REPLACE THE CURRENT CUTSCENES WITH PS3 QUALITY CUTSCENES!!!
When FFXIII was released on XBOX360, the cut scenes were downgraded to fit the smaller disk size. Why have you done the same here!? It will take up even more HDD space to have better quality cut scenes and some people might not like that, so create an option of an HD High Resolution Texture Pack DLC, another free DLC; giving your customers options is a good thing.
There is also the FMVs, the game is a 60GB download for horrible quality FMVs, no option to just download one language over the other, or HQ FMVs.
That's just inexcusable, that's more than 20GB MORE than the PS3 version, but the PS3 version has better quality FMVs.
The movies look worse on the PC version because (shock), they used an inferior codec for the PC version (bink) than they did for the PS3 version (H.264). On top of that, they also encoded them at a lower bitrate.

ENABLE FORCE FEEDBACK FOR SUPPORTED GAMEPADS
The Vibration/Rumble on controllers seem to add a little more suspense to the gameplay and cutscenes, as you already know I'm sure; since the console versions supported it, why not here?

Square, you need to fix these problems. I have some predictions about what's going to happen here. You're going to see articles on Kotaku, Polygon, GameSpot,‎ etc. about what a terrible port this is, and about how modder’s have to step in and fix a game for your customers again. I think you'd rather not have that? I'm not going to pretend that I know how easy or hard it is to fix these problems, but I doubt it's beyond your abilities.

GameSpot has created a good video indicating the major issues as well: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/final-fantasy-xiii-for-pc-has-basically-no-graphic/1100-6422856/

If you would just dedicate a few extra work hours to fixing these problems, you could change the reviews on the store page from "MOSTLY NEGATIVE" to "MOSTLY POSITIVE". If you deliver on this it will pay off, I promise you.

The game won't even launch for some players! http://steamcommunity.com/app/292120/discussions/0/613938693078130994/

Many people who purchased this game will not purchase the sequels and many who are on the verge of purchasing this product; will not because of the reasons listed above.
Please Square Enix, we all know you can make things right!

All their newer console game ports work properly, that's the way they took to take us seriously. Just give up on them patching this game, Square Enix is not a company that goes back and fix older products. You can get this one game to work decently enough. This game is not even the worst PC port of a console game.
The biggest problem in this port is that the player has to do every configuration manualy and in the most difficult way possible, But you can get it to work at 60 FPS.

13, 13-2, and 13-3 need to have settings in the game, or on the launcher, to make it where you can run it on low spec computers.

the current graphics options are worthless and do nothing to help the games run smoothly.

not really low aspects but the port that is the problem, the game is made for ps3, what is pretty low aspect in pc standards, try add a profile to your GPU CCC and play around with it till its playable, or change the res( what is a pretty big performance hit), so if that does not help at all i doubt changeing shadows or texture quality, will help much. also when you start the gam there is a launcher you can lower the shadow res and AA.

+1, it would be great to play this game at 60 fps, its a lovely story that i'm interested in so far, but then when whats supposed to be a smooth transition into battle looks like a slideshow and it kinda messes with the immersion.

Nearly 4 years later, still no signs of Square Enix "making things right".

I'm running a GTX 1060 3GB, an FX-8350, and 16 GB of RAM, and the only way I've ever been able to get this game to run smoothly is to use NVIDIA Inspector to lock the frame rate at 30 FPS, which is nuts. The optimization in this game is utterly terrible. I haven't bothered picking up XIII-2 or Lightning Returns as a result.

Lightning Returns runs the best among the 3 from what I've gathered. And also based on my own personal experience.
