The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Προβολή στατιστικών:
Triss's voice actress...epic fail. (Spoilers)
I remember seeing these threads pop up back around launch and hadn’t read for the sake of spoilers. Forgot about it all until I reached the first encounter :( Not sure what happened, but the actress’s heart doesn’t seem to be in it. The delivery feels weak for those of us who felt the performances of the past Trisses. Sorceresses in the Witcher world are cunning, manipulative, scheming, powerful masters of the tongue and get what they want (long term planners, think Senator Palpatine). This current Triss doesn’t fit the role after her line deliveries giving to a false believability of having this stature. What a shame :\

Edit: Saw spoilers crop up, no worries, title edited.

I actually liked triss more than anyone else in the game. I felt her delivery was perfect for a character who turned her back on the lodge only to see her accusations used to fan the fires of a witch hunt.

Who loved a man who abandoned her to chase his forgotten lover and their daughter of circumstance, leaving her alone after all of it.

She was the single most compelling female character in this game by my opinion.

Agreed.
I didn't like it at first in TW2, now I've grown used to it and I feel they have the right VA for her.
It grows on yah, I love it!
It's a different interpretation and I liked it. Definitely a different character than the Triss from the books, but multilayered and interesting.

For me the voice acting suited the character.

Triss cares about Geralt and is fun loving, but she remains in Novigrad for a specific reason and in a way everything else is a distraction. There are moments when she really shows the determination inside her and those moments are appropriate for the character.

Yes its terrible, she sounds like some country bumpkin instead of a sophisticated upper class aristocrat. I mean she has lived a long time and is used to the trappings of luxury. I think Keira Metz pulled it off best.

Relatability is important to me. Triss I find very approachable, especially knowing that she's older than dirt. It takes a special person to refrain from becoming aloof due to life-experience if one holds extreme longevity. I do miss her more sarcastic replies from W2 though, but I guess that being hunted robs one from a 'on the outside looking in' kinda quality.

Yennefer managed to rub me the wrong way quite early going into W3. I think it is telling of character when one's enjoying longevity by carrying a grudge and refusing to let it go, only to drop it for the time needed to scratch an itch.

The only thing important to Keira Metz is Keira Metz. I actually know women that are that level of egocentric. Suffice to say that I'm not on friendly terms with those women.

Triss is. She is the only women to be a pressure of 5 years on the life of Geralt, Triss is Egocentric to a very high level. And Gerat is a Witcher, he doesn't know of what tomorrow will bring...

Pressure? Not sure what you mean by that. And where those 5 years are coming from, I don't get that either.

IN the LightHouse, when Geralt Romances Her.

And i Love Filippa, she is Honnest with her design, she Loves Power, she is not a two faced woman. That i can understand, some people loves Power, that's all.

Fillipa is surprisingly one-dimensional for a tertiary with story-importance. CDPR acknowledges this by giving her an entire dungeon with Geralt alone, but it doesn't uplift her character in the slightest. She remains one-dimensional and uninteresting.

Well i miss the character portrayal from W1 and to a lesser extent W2 where i felt the character had already been radically changed.

Maybe its because they spent so much time working on Yennefer and Ciri and trying to get them right as it was their first appearance in the game's but Triss as a character suffered for that.

For me Triss is boring, she always bugs my Geralt, always complains about everything, she always judge your actions.
She is only an Holier-than-tou two faced woman, she is more boring than everyone in game, like a tsundere character, lol.:steambored:

Filippa never complains, she loves Power.

Yennefer doesn't complains, she Loves Ciri and Geralt.

This two Sorceresses are always straigts with their mind, with their POV, that is more honnest, and i don't misjudged them because of that.

I played W-classic a long time ago, Mumm-Ra. W2 is more recent to me. W2 on the whole was a much bolder game where everything was larger than life. W3 is much more muted in comparison and I feel that W3 is a better game because of that. To me, Triss makes sense. Everything goes in love and war when you craft a story and Triss' disposition in the two games strike me as right.

I'm actually going the Triss path and will dump Yennefer out on her azz at first opportunity. She can take her jennifer lopez act elsewhere.

I understand what your saying, i think they went a little overboard with the sweet girl act in W3. Everytime she tried to win Geralt over all i could think of was her lying about her intentions in W1 and how she kept silent about Yennefer's whereabouts in W2.
I never read the books, but how old can witch be, i never heard in the game about that, i know Geralt is close to 100 years, as vesemir said in the beginning. I always picture yenefer as close to 40, a very beautiful 40 :) and triss like, idk... 30. But it is hint that Geralt know yenefer since 25 years, so she would be 15 at the time. Make no sense, maybe more a beautiful 45.
