Have you been to Vimme Vivaldi (the dwarf banker), he will exchange the money you can't use into the money you can use. When i went to him i got like 5000 crowns.

Hoard everything! Pick up every weapon, every piece of armor, everything! Sell items to the correct merchant for better profits.
Kill as many monsters as you possibly can. It is farming a bit for harvesting ingredients, but some ingredients are worth a lot of Crowns! If you have more than 10 of any ingredient or otherwise monster parts, sell them to Alchemists or Herbalists. I had something like 60 harpy claws, 45 harpy feathers, and 100 drowned brains. I made close to 8,000 crowns off of that; maybe closer to 10,000.

Always convert currency. Never buy armor or swords outright, unless you just have to have it. Do not buy horse gear ever! Win it in horse races. The exception to this rule applies to the Oferi gear and associated achievement.

Play a lot of Gwent. Once you've built a respectable deck, it's easy to win. Participate in fights. Always bet the most that you can.

I was sitting on close to 80,000 crowns without any mods or hardly any Gwent when I completed my first play through.

i do all that minus the gwent as i can only bet 10 crowns at a time unless i download the mod that lets me bet as much as i want witch i should XD once you get most of the cards you can make the northen relms a unbeatable deack

There is that mod, and another 'wealthy vendors' they'll pay you more than 8-10 crowns for a sword. It's more like 42-60 crowns per sword, I believe. Except relics or otherwise rare swords. I'm not sure if the mods increases the prices on those items as well.

just loot and sell. Skellige has tons of smugglers cache than king bring you around 1.5k of crowns

Easy explore kill and sell loot. Went to those question marks all over velen and had more than enough gold. To the point i did not need to bother with skelliege. Not to mention plenty of stuff to upgrade witcher gear.

furs, furs, and more furs. You can hunt and collect them and they have decent value.

Furs, furs, furs. *Motley Crue*

Sell your weapons to the Blacksmith in Oxenfurt for extra cash and your armour in Novigrad. Makes sense since the peasant smiths should have far less coin/less orders and so charge more.

well i found the true way to make the most money in this game....get the mod that lets you bet 999990 crowns in gwent and just keep betting XD

You know I had thought this too, so I tested it a while back and to my disappointment found that the wealthier blacksmiths and armorers do not offer more coin than do the peasantry equivalents.

By that route, it'd be easier to use console commands for that same amount, even more than that.

The blacksmith in Oxenfurt is an exception though. He pays easily 50 crowns more for weapons.

I will definitely check this out. When I did this test, the game was at patch 1.07, maybe it had something to do with it, but I'll compare again. Then if he does offer a significant sum more, I'll just make sure to travel to Oxenfurt.
