Report a translation problem
any game that goes a year with no mods wont have mods and the devloper has made no attempt to make the game modable. everything from scripts to textures and meshes are in 1 pack file. if they had simply sepperated the game into pultiple ones and had textures in folders the game would have a thriving mod community from retextures and script revisions could be circulated because the file you change would be a small portion of the entire game file size not 4/5 of it
It's also the second time my initial impulse is to say "Don't be That Guy" because of both how obvious a line it is, and how relevant it is to his comment.
While he is correct about redditors saying there's no real modding community, and the reasons why, the conclusion he's reached based on that isn't accurate or helpful.
There are mods, they're not user-friendly, but they do exist. I don't personally use mods, but hopefully some of the more active players here will be able to help out. The game lacks the kind of features many Steam games have to support modding, and the devs haven't provided any help (they said they wanted to do so before release, but have so far not done so as far as I'm aware).
General rules for Rebel Galaxy modding:
Download the .PAK file
Copy the .PAK file into your RebelGalaxy\PAKS folder.
Important:
PS: If you don’t want to update a mod yourself you could try to ask in the thread for an update. Some might not even now that their mod doesn’t work anymore.
Also-while modding is a bit of a chore it's not impossible. The fact is there isn't a ton of stuff in this game to mod, anyways as this isn't all that deep a game. It's a fun arcady space game not Skyrim.
