Cutting Edge Achievment (EP1 knife-only)

Hi, this achievment is seriously bugged thus frustrating. Some of the stupid criteria nullify the achievment. Basically I ran 2 times through the game and it didnt dropped. So for my third time I won't do anything of the list below:

- never aim your weapon
- never reload
- never do stealth attacks
- never do follow up attacks (on stunned enemies)
- never use the flashlight
- never point the flashlight to blind enemies
- never pick anything up (only key-items)
- never combine items
- never throw bricks (unless you have to at certain scripted events that require to do it)
- never kill any enemy

I did some research and most of the points from the list are ♥♥♥♥ing hilarious because stealth attacks are done with the knife, but it nullifies it. When u control Natalia or Moira and the AI partner shots with the gun then this doesn't nullify the achievment. That's some serious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ going on here and Capcom should consider fixing it. So if you dont have anything to do, write the company some letters but stay fair ;) I update if I dropped the achievment following my dont's-list.

I did folluw up attack and it work :D Heal you can pick up and use it work. What you shouldn t do is using the flame trougher ;) but i wish you luck with no heal and no kill to do barrys run or claires run :D Nathalia even trough auto bricks so you need only to use knife and heal, what the ki of the co op partner do its unimportant.

You can use the flame thrower bust to get this achievement i did anyway and got it but i did one follow up attack on accident and had to re-run with barry.

^ Sounds like as if you can do both sub-episodes separately? if you make it through without mistake on ep1-1 but ♥♥♥♥ up in ep1-2 then just redo ep1-2?

That is funny i change only dont using Flame Thrower at Run 3 and it work and make 1 follow up kill and get it :D Capcom we need a list!

The achievemen isn't bugged, it's just explained very poorly. I had to run through episode 1 a total of 4 times trying only to get the achievement. I was so upset that I made a helpful comprehensive guide you can find here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=402760200

Just got it. Was... surprisingly easy. Just run away from everything, lol. For example, in the detention center control room, I just immediately switched to Natalia and ran past all the Rotten to get into the hole in the wall. Once that was done, they totally forgot about Barry and I bypassed the whole encounter.

just updated the original post. In addition I didn't activated the fire-trap, Tallcat's guide says you can use it but I'd like someone to clarify that.

I used it and still got the achievement.

I also accidentally performed two followup attacks, although I hit retry before the animation finished both times.

First try got it. I already knew the map and where to go. Dropped all ammo at the start and ran past everything that wasn't an herb or needed to progress. Did stab a couple enenies to death (not a followup attack) and had a couple die to spinning blades. Also used the fire at then end of Claire's part. Used a single brick to break a lock with Natalia. Set difficulty to casual.

Hey, how about this, there's a work bench right at the start of the level. You could just remove all your weapons from the inventory, maybe the game recognized the trophy better then? I mean, it's literally knife only then.

Wait what? When i unlock this back in febrary (or march) 2015 or 2016 and episode 1 was the only available to play i kill a lot of enemies with the knife, use sealth attacks, pick all the ammo and granades i found and get assist from Moira. Not to mention i create a torniquet.

Of course i didnt get it on my first try cause you need to save all your weapons on the work table when you finish the chapter. Same with Barry. Do not pick the weapons again when you restart the chapter on both sides (Barry cant pick up his own weapons but Claire can) As long you dont pick up again your weapons, use/aim a granade or flashligh you will be able to unlock it.
