Q3 has like 400 servers up still. The game works fine. If you use in-game browser, be sure to set gametype to "All" before you refresh the server list. I know a bunch of people who still play on there. And at least, they can't take that away from us.

Quake Live WAS free to play for years, and I do mean YEARS. At least 5 or 6 of them. Now, today, suddenly, pricetag on it. Stats and friends lists and all that and the server browser all got removed. Now it's pay to play. I'm gonna guess they kept the microtransactions for skins and maps in though, I bet.

Nah, he's right. Everyone that bought a pro sub through Steam got the game for free.

Email [e-mail]. It isn't fair that the people who played through the launcher have to pay for the Steam version.

Although it's nice mentionning the game, talking about it as an alternative is not objective; Last release has serious fps issues for a "lot" of players / "..." since there are nobody in game / and it's 10 euros as well.
